Dumb question here, but how safe is this? I mean do I just spray the general area as it's running, I'm just afraid of it dripping onto the exhaust manifold and well..you know :doh: As long as the engine hasn't heated up yet, the chance of fire is minimal. Another option is to use a propane torch. Turn the gas on low and don't light it. then run the nozzle along the various places that could leak.

It takes wonderful pics, but there's no telephoto zoom setting. :roll: So I envision a whole lotta pit pics. If you can find them, WJ front control arms are a good upgrade for a stockish height MJ. :thumbsup: They are stronger, curved to allow better tire clearance and will have newer bushings.

My house was built in the 40s and when the 50s rolled around, the previous owners busted out a hole in the back cinderblocks so they could fit in their new car. :shake: When we came in, my dad tore it down and built a 24x20. It's still a tight squeeze to get my truck in there. :(

Are you using your hand to check for slop in the front end? Try having someone saw the steering wheel back and forth while you watch the front end parts. It can take a lot more force to see the slop than one can muster with their bare hands. In addition to the bushings, check the condition of your wheel bearings. :thumbsup:

The clutch and flywheel will work, the bellhousing and the slave assembly will not. Keep in mind that a TJ/YJ trans will clock the t-case up a bit.

Converting is a pretty straight forward process and it allows you to buy later model XJ parts that were better than the original MJ stuff. :thumbsup:

Figured I'd use this as my official "out to lunch" post. Will be gone friday til Tuesday. My flight leaves Friday morning and if all goes well, I'll meet up with Peter (Worlds Fastest Comanche) later that day. It's an insanely complicated plan, but that's nothing new to me. I get on a plane that takes me to Minneapolis. Then I get on a different plane that takes me to Salt Lake City. Then I get on a shuttle that takes me to the buses. Then I get on the casino bus that takes me the 1.5hrs to the Wendover casinos. Then I call peter and he will haul me from there to the camping area. from that point, I don't know what's happening when. I'll figure it out on the fly. So far I've gathered that the most important things are: hat, sunscreen, binoculars, empty camera. Not necessarily in that order. :D I still have to borrow some money from someone for food, but that's just a minor detail. :popcorn: I figure I can last a weekend on peanutbutter and honey sandwiches.
