  1. double thanks Fiat! They gave me a business card with that address but I cannot find it. :(
  2. My brain wants to say it's a smallblock Chevy, but hopefully LVC will chime in to explain the details on their awesome rig.
  3. full size Waggys.
  4. You still might have troubles down the road. The heat will dry out the lumber. :(
  5. buy a kit. And make it a good kit. It'll be worth every penny to not have to re-do it later. :D
  6. Huh. I don't seem to have a shot online of my CB mount. :dunno: Well, in the meantime, I highly recommend a spring mount. I wish I had thought of it before snapping off a fiberglass antenna on a tree branch. :(
  7. Someone told me a while back that a stretched timing chain/belt can lead to really bad blowby. I've yet to test out this theory (mine doesn't move much these days, but was consuming a whole heck of a lot when last she saw freeway time), but if your compression results are fine (mine were acceptable) then you might want to look into it.
  8. Your original valve has probably been bypassed and discarded then. Look under there and see if you have two brake lines running from the combo valve under the master cylinder to the rear axle. If it's been bypassed one of the lines will be abandoned (or removed). Or the 2 may be tied together somewhere with a T fitting.
  9. If I remember right, the Lakeview team is from California. WFC was having engine troubles. It was still in the trailer when I had to leave and catch the flight back on Tuesday. They were eventually able to get the truck through the tech inspection  , but I have not yet heard whether or not they were even able to make a run. I'll update as soon as I hear.
  10. The front leaf conversion has been done, but I seem to remember one member's opinion that he'd never do it again. If our search function is working you might be able to the thread. Strengthening the front uniframe is very important. Cooling can be a major headache in a v8 conversion. Some guys never seem to win. :( advanceadapters.com should also have motor mounts.
  11. Here's a small batch so you guys can get a sense of what I got to drool over. :D I've got enough new desktop images to last for a while. This is the Lake View Cruiser. A family team who ran 175mph the day before I met up with them. I haven't yet heard if they were able to best that. They just now became a member here, and I'm hoping they';ll have some of the pro's photos of the truck at speed. (this shot was taken at the starting line line. note the padding used to try and keep the interior at a survivable temperature :ack: ) This sweet MJ is owned by Vern. Hopefully he'll stop by too.
  12. I'm working on them. The shear volume of them is daunting and life won't seem to let me dedicate the required time. But I'm working on a small batch right now so I can post up something. :D I've got a bunch of pics/video of the LakeViewCruiser. And they might have some of the truck under speed. They just signed up here on the site. (those shots were from the first day or 2. When I got to talk with them the air dam was installed and the ribbon magnets had long since blown away with the 175mph wind)
  13. Cherokees never had them and the Comanche valve is not available anymore through any known company. But you can get an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve from places like Summit Racing. It won't be load sensing, but it'll allow you to tweak the pressure to get it right.
  14. Assuming our search feature is actually working again, you should be able to find the posts where people have purchased those items. ebay comes to mind. If the search function is not working properly, please let me know. If your truck is stock height, then WJ grand cherokee arms are built better and have a bend in them to better clear tires.
  15. I know the one you're thinking of but can't find a pic in my online collection. Try thumbing through the "random comanches" thread. It might be in there. I did find this one though:
