  1. still the best MJ paint scheme ever. :D
  2. tech Qs should really go in the tech forum so more eyes will see it and the answers will show up in searches. I torque them to pretty-darn-tight, then drive around the neighborhood, then re-tighten to pretty-darn-tight.
  3. Haven't figured that one out yet. But I think you're right. ask in the tech forum and someone should be able to fill in on the details, but i think you'll need to swap out the little diverter in the dash or something like that.
  4. nope, I did that. Maybe you ran out of letters? :dunno: the original title was:
  5. do you have intermittent wipers? there's always a chance the control box under the dash has gone haywire. It's a plastic box maybe 3 inches across that has a bunch of wires going in and out. if you undo the connectors, they will connect to each other and bypass the box.
  6. found a shot of what I originally did with the retainers. I found a thinner bolt that fit in the remaining space. That was the first gen pack. In the new packs I made I just skipped the bolt altogether.
  7. Are you speaking of a "roll" bar? if so you'll need to specify long bed or short.
  8. gears always matters since setting up gears is way more money than anyone in their right mind should invest into a Dana 35. :(
  9. yup, MJ is just the company designation for the Comanche. essentially, the M can stand for anything you'd like it to mean. My Jeep, Manly Jeep, Macho Jeep, Masochistic Jeep, Mass-of-broken-parts Jeep, or whatever.

    Chickens V2:

Not forgetting to lock the coop at night. I guess that would be an important step. :D
  11. last time I went to the drs office (half dozen or so drs in the place) i found out that my particular dr had moved out west. so the set me up with a different dr in the building. No prob... until I saw on the bill that they charged me a fee for changing doctors. :dunno: yeah right. as if I was going to pay them a fee when it's the dr that left me. :shake:
  12. make sure you upgrade the trans too. The AX-5 can't take much more than a stock 2.5L. If you have an AW-4 then you should be alright.
  13. What engine did the truck have originally?
  14. Not out of that thing. I would just enjoy it as is. Last time I checked there was only one place to get the parts for the engine from in Ohio. And, on top of that, everything had to be shipped in from France. And all we were trying to get was an alternator. Ended up having to rebuild the stock one, and wait for the brushes from France. :ack: If I had it, it would be hermetically sealed, and only come out on 70+ degree days. Did you know you have to remove a motor mount to replace the starter on that thing? Rob L. :fs1: meh. ever changed the starter on a 4.6L car? :wall:

what are you doing this time to better protect them from coons?
  16. I'm assuming that this means it's the appropriate trackbar bracket. :dunno:

what's the temperament of that peacock?
  18. oh, and the clips won't let you use the same bolt, but they're attached to the lower leaf so they still function ok.
  19. center pins should never be reused. buy grade 8 or better bolts.
  20. Saw them on a Ford Ranger...guy said he did alot of towing (utility, toys, etc). I'll be doing the same. :dunno: HellCreek offers both an AAL made from an MJ main leaf (adds some capacity and raises it up an inch), and also an AAL that brings the payload capacity up to Big Ton numbers.
  21. been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. 2wd packs with MJ mains added as AALs:
  22. thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to change that auto censor.
  23. it's a pickup. the sky's the limit. :D (or low bridges as the case may be)
  24. No photos guys? :fool: Back in '97 I needed a DD and was torn between a truck and a Jeep. Then I learned that Jeep made a truck. :clapping: Sweet. But i couldn't find an MJ in my area in my price range that had everything I wanted. So I compromised and started looking for 2wds with the required 4.0/stick/AC. Found one in the classifieds needing some TLC, took it for a spin around the block and fell in love. With all the memory problems I have, I still remember that very first drive like it was yesterday. No wait, I don't remember much of yesterday. guess I remember it better than yesterday. :D Here she is a few months later after some thorough customizing:
  25. Heck, take photos as you go and make a DIY write-up out of it. :D
