  1. yes, but only if you have 2wd, or if you can find a matching front axle. 3.73s were kinda rare in a high-pinion Dana 30. :( They were fairly common in low-pinion Dana 30s under ZJ Grand Cherokees. Make sure the calipers are there. the core on them charge is insane.
  2. how are you going to get it? you're not even going to be there. :nanner: :rotf: I got it in a trade for I'd guess about 150 in worth, but I don't really care if I get that back if it means having enough gas money to get to Wisconsin. That's the primary goal here. If you guys know of anyone in need of her, let me know. She needs nothing and isn't a rust pile. by the way, I've got a lead on a pair of tires for the Dakota for pretty darn cheap. :D still waiting on a reply from the guy though. I'm a bit worried about how much tread is left on them.
  3. technically, only the AX-15 has the GL-3 requirement. the rest of the Jeep trannys can take plain ol' GL-5. But a quality gear oil is still a good choice.
  4. Don't worry 'bout l'il ol' me. :D It's extra anyways. The axle is a 98 and like a lot of my stuff, I have it cause it's cool. :D I can stand to part with it. I should probably pull the aw4 off the half-a-jeep too. No real need for that beyond it making it easier to balance the engine.
  5. sounds like it's "lawyer time". I'm a bit closer to making it. Got a couple new potential plans. One involving driving my Dakota back up to Michigan and then on to wisconsin. :D If it wasn't for the fact that my Dakota needs a pair of tires, it'd be cheaper than flying/driving the van. still working on money. I'm thinking I'll need to put my 8.25 up for quick sale. :( Guess I didn't really need it right now anyway.
  6. dunno. there's always been a max size. :dunno:
  7. Yup, that's a peugeot. be gentle with the shifts and keep it topped off with oil and it should last a while longer. But read up on the AX-15 swap so you'll be prepared. :D
  8. did you see the wiper arm bushing write up in the DIY forum?
  9. My old 2wd peugeot had a nasty habit of slowly leaking trans fluid out the rear and when the fluid level got low, it threw all sorts of hissy-fits. :(
  10. Hmmm... and what exactly are the front upper coil mounts attached too? :D
  11. vacuum leak?
  12. I used steel wool and a small nail. :dunno: probably not the best technique out there. You might want to post that as a new topic so more guys will see it.
  13. don't remember how much it weighs, but it's possible for 2 big guys to pick it up. 3 or 4 is better though for control and setting it down on supports.
  14. this is a shortbed, but the LB should have a similar setup.
  15. label: a small identifying tag.
  16. If I passed tomorrow, my family would be stuck with a similar (but much much smaller) hassle. I don't even label my goodies. :( I should probably catalog everything one of these days...
  17. I have lots of time on my hands. :brows:
  18. if it's 2wd, then 4wd coils will bump it up an inch. And if it's 2wd, all of above suggestions will lift in another inch on top of the numbers provided. A sneaky way to gain a bit is to throw in extra coil spring isolators (the rubber donut above the coil spring.)
  19. I altered your subject line with more details.
  20. They need to hire someone to throw the leftovers up on ebay.
  21. what are the specs of the suspension now? stock?
  22. noooooooo no no no no no no no. They should never EVER be used on brake lines. The pressure is too high. I used a 1/4"to 5/16" adapter compression fitting for connecting my external slave to my original 88 metal line. ti works great for clutch lines since there's far less pressure in there.
