  1. there are actually 2 or three temp sensors on your truck. one for the computer, one for the gauge, and one for the e-fan if equipped. oil pressure sensor or switch should also be on the pass side of the block. any competent repair shop should be able to adjust your odometer for a few bucks and give you the paper work to show it was done legally. also, you might want to break up the individual questions into separate threads.
  2. probably not. high idles are usually indicative of a vacuum leak, a bad IAC or a bad TPS.
  3. yes, the IAC controls the idle speed. have you tried cleaning it?
  4. go get a brass punch. also, you can try putting a WD-40 straw on a can of PBBlaster and see if you can spray any of it up in the hole.
  5. nothing wrong with a solid 2wd. all the 4wd stuff bolts right in.
  6. mine has these. :hmm:
  7. what does the drivers side look like?
  8. awesome
  9. I believe it's on the axle tube to the drivers side of the diff.
  10. Judge agreed with us that my parking area next to my house isn't the "street", neither are the trucks "in storage". best part of the trial outcome is the storage aspect. If my trucks (who I won't argue were unmoved for a month) aren't "in storage", the NONE of the other cars/trucks that the people of this city may happen to leave parked in front of their house on the street for longer than 48 hrs are in violation of that law. I CANNOT WAIT TO SPREAD THE WORD. :D
  11. got a muffler for the 86 that actually muffles. :D I promise, it's only temporary.
  12. should be on the drivers side of the diff housing
  13. awesome
  14. dirt in there is pretty normal. to clean it, you can put some extensions on a shop vac and just suck it all out. the seal by the diff is fine as long as there's no oil dripping out the end of your axle tube.
  15. their spring-under lifts are bolt-on. if any are spring-over, then that would need perches welded on.
  16. sweet. :D tell him he needs some daylight shots.
  17. they are a good middle of the road lift kit. you can buy the leaf packs separately if you want a high-end lift for the front.
  18. hit it with lots of PB Blaster. wait a day. then remove the little bolt and hit the retainer thingie sideways.
  19. leaky injectors are a known problem. can you view the injector while it's trying to start?
  20. I'm still convinced that Jeep is to blame for this confusion. probably used the different types here and there with no rhyme or reason. :fs2:
  21. oooo, you have one of those ultra rare infinity ratios. it instantly adapts to any ratio you install i the rear end. lucky guy!

    Trans Id

which 4 cylinder Jeep? CJs had a different 4 banger and a different trans bolt pattern than MJ/XJ/YJ/etc.
  24. 78/79 were the first years of the big bronco and the axle is shared with the same years of F-150. a handful of earlier years of F-150 had a near identical design. starting in 1980 the suspension design and that axle went bye-bye in the half-tons.
  25. dunno yet. :dunno:
