well? short version: it's important to re-torque the U-bolts after weight is on the leafs. this is especially important if your perches aren't welded yet. that's what I get for being in a hurry. photos when I finally get a chance to finish the job.

completely different trans. they do not interchange. have you tried kicking the shifter really hard? worked for me the time my peugeot got stuck in 2nd. :rotf:

if he's doing the drilling/shaping also, then that's not all that outrageous. I paid for the steel, and then for them to be cut into wedges. I did the rest. just make sure you form the upper wedge before drilling holes. and make extra doubly sure you're drilling them in the correct orientation. :thumbsup:

if the lower control arms are still available, they are a nice upgrade for stock up to a 2" lift (3" if you re-shim the LCA mounht). :thumbsup:

cold works fine. as long as you don't get hot gear oil all over you, you're good. for removing the cover, I use a combination of driving a stiff scraper or chisel in between the cover and housing, or smacking the housing sideways with a rubber or wooden mallot. usually one technique or the other will work.

the drums on the MJ AMC-20 aren't small. and being that so few vehicles in the world have that particular axle, you aren't likely to find an online writeup. but with either crown vic parts or explorer parts, you should be able to concoct something. :thumbsup:

'bout the same. for really heavy duty use, up that to 75w-140. if you have posi, be sure to grab the right additive too. Synth is better. the big question is whether or not it matters in any specific application. if it makes you feel better to know you've got the additional protection of full synth, go for it. :thumbsup:

the easy start feature just might be a deal maker. my dad is in good shape for his age, but he sure ain't getting younger and I have to remember that this is his saw, not mine. :D I imagine it'll only be used a few times a year, but for several days in a row each time. the trees by him are huge. So I guess I now need to find a local dealer so I can check it out in person.

prob not. I'm not sure I'd even trust conduit (though maybe if the design was really well thought out). there's a lot of force involved with a spare tire and 10 gallons of fluid when you hit the brakes or a bump.

yes. will you notice a difference if you put it in your front axle? probably not. 80w90 is all the front axle needs. :thumbsup:

I didn't order anything. I used the linkage from my 86 and built my own bracket to use with the TJ trans/t-case. but if you've got the novak stuff on order, keep us posted. it looks sweet. :D

nice looking truck. :thumbsup: the black interior is kinda rare. although I'd keep an eye out for a bench seat with the headrests. more than one of our members have broken the back window with the heads in minor fender benders. if you don't want to mess with the whole bench, the back part unbolts and should be easily interchanged. you might even be able to swap the black cover onto the new back. :thumbsup:

it's a bandaid until I can figure out what's up with the forum software. I just brought over a few of the more popular smiles from that "view more smiles" page that's missing. how would we live life without the "worthless without pics" smilie? :rotf: although it only takes up 1/4 of my screen (running straight up firefox). :dunno:

that flat bar in the pic is my bracket. all you really need is a sturdy point in space directly across from the pivot point on the body bracket. :thumbsup:

10w40 engine oil? that should work fine. Chrysler recently changed the specks from gear oil to motor oil on that trans.

that's not the blue one though. that's under the hood of this one. he was at the flats last year but had engine woes. this year they went back and got some good runs in.
