  1. the misconception about "bolting in" gears is so prevalent that I never take it for granted and always feel compelled to ask and make sure.
  2. for 77 bucks, I'd pass. the right one is out there somewhere. mine cost me 25 and even came with a rear window. :D (with a broken hinge though)

    Sold My 88

did you give the new owner a club card? :brows: speaking of which, if you email me the full image from your avatar, I'll gladly replace the pixalated image with a clearer one.
  4. could be anywhere. I've had good success with sprinkling baby powder around and then using the hose. the drips will make little trails in the powder and lead you back towards the leak location.
  5. got number 9? http://lewiston.craigslist.org/cto/2106441352.html also, someone give me 3 grand.
  6. once again, gear ratio is most important. any CAD can be bypassed, and any CAD axle can be upgraded to the one-peice shafts with the bigger U-joints later on.
  7. I've got a minispool in my front 44. i HATE it. turning is, well, challenging. when I can get to it, I'm swapping it for a locker.
  8. checked out the 90 to make sure no one had hit it (also checked the dakota). they're good.
  9. how are you planning on lining the inside of the uniframe? inside the rockers? at least the floor can be dealt with... assuming it hasn't started rotting already. Our trucks rot from the inside-out. It's hard to combat that. :(
  10. plain ol' copper works great in our engines.
  11. tb spacers aren't worth their weight in dirt on an mpi motor. does the rustys system separate the filter from the hot air in the engine bay? if not, you're just trading a restricted system suckin cold air for a less restricted suckin hot air.
  12. nope. if you did manage to turn the distributor (there are tabs on it that prevent this), the computer would just try to re-adjust back to what it wants.
  13. nope. only goes down about 3/4 of the way.
  14. yup. all they had to do was negotiate the corner. the van was just sitting in front of my house. If they had hit the back door I wouldn't have cared. if they had hit the side door I wouldn't have cared. but no, they had to hit the one door on that side that still worked. I wonder if my window still rolls down...
  15. since our trucks tend to rot from the inside-out (bed, rockers, floor, etc), lining the whole thing would likely just promote more problems then it would save in scrapes from tree branches.
  16. well, that was fast. I got the tires mounted, what, Monday afternoon? so I got a day and a half getting a happy vibe from my van. Now I get angry when looking at it. Seems someone sideswiped it early this morning. :fs1: with some tweaking of the plastic trim the door still opens. And it even sorta kinda closes too. the door was pushed down slightly in relation to the catch and so it makes a gawd awful thunk as it shuts. called the cops and had a report made. not that it'll do any good, but it made me feel a bit better. I gotta say, I'm a little pissed.

    Snow report

I'm only like 3 hrs from you. feel free to come get some and take it back home with ya.
  18. at least one. can't remember if this happened last winter or the one before. curse my feeble brain. so far the tires have been handling great in the icy parts of the side streets. can't wait for the next snow!
  19. just try to grab the sway bar links with your new bar, just in case. pitman arms rarely go bad. though sometimes they snap on heavily modified rigs.
  20. how new? I had one fail after about 4k miles. bearings died and it ate itself alive. seriously though, it only takes a few minutes to pull the belt off. I'd do it just to eliminate the bearings once and for all.
  21. some lady was kind enough to mod that for me a couple winters ago. :D I still gotta get around to clearancing it a bit so I can open the rear door again.
  22. are all the rocker arms properly torqued down? none loose?
  23. bigger sway bars are always a good upgrade. careful with those upper sway bar bolts. they have a tendency to snap off. :( and make sure you get a bigger bar. there were different diameters available on GCs and not all are an upgrade.
