  1. not necessarily, but it does have to be a 21 spline input. any modern 2.5 jeep will have that, plus 87-89 4.0 MJ/XJ/YJs. try to get the linkage if you can. I'm not certain if there are any differences.
  2. only difference is the t-case and shortened rear d-shaft. try car-part.com for a t-case. you'll need a 23 spline input t-case, so any 4.0 case after late 89 will work. if you get limited years returned in your search, then bump it up to a later year. you could also go with a 23 spline 242 t-case and have awd available to you later on. :D don't forget to get the bellhousing with the trans. It may sound like common sense, but I've seen transmissions sold without it and just want to make sure your project goes as smooth as possible.
  3. are they 2 speed fans? to me that seemed like the big draw of the taurus fans.
  4. what are you doing for gearing?
  5. if your truck is still rocking the original 20 year old coil, you should get a bump from a new stock one.
  6. got a stock e-fan?
  7. another possible cause of slow wipers is corrosion in the wire harness. might be as simple as cleaning up the connections.
  8. is the axle complete with brakes?
  9. the 95 wrangler axle will require extensive welding.
  10. we've had a couple members who experienced a loss of power when switching to platinums. don't remember which kind of tip though.
  11. got any photos of the parts truck's rear leafs?
  12. the old rad has an in and an out. the newer rad has an in and an out in the same locations. the rad was the only thing I changed.
  13. I believe those are my words quoted from another post. :dunno:
  14. ruaDyU05rKE cool. it works. :D
  15. take the starter to autozone or other shop that checks them for free?
  16. I installed a newer radiator with the rad cap and left the rest as-is. works great. :)
  17. yup, many guys have reported having to bleed theirs multiple times. :(
  18. I've seen occasional double posting, but you're the first I remember that's mentioned that they noticed it happening to themselves on a regular basis. I've got no clue why that would happen. :dunno:
  19. I may be way off base here since I've not personally opened one up, but I don't believe it moves the throttle body plate at all. I think it opens and closes a small bypass hole to tweak the idle speed. :dunno:
  20. the iac is operating all the time. if it was completely bad, I'd kinda expect issues after it warmed up too. :dunno: might be something like a vacuum leak that's sealing itself once it gets warm, or a faulty egr valve.
  21. sprinkling baby powder around in the suspect area helped me find many a leak.
  22. hazards and turn signals use different flasher pot assemblies. it's possible that the signal one is dead. try swapping them and see what happens. as to the rest of the stuff. are you sure your battery and cables are good and the connection between them is clean?
  23. yup. though it no longer exists in any of my trucks and I've noticed no difference. :dunno: but none of my trucks were quiet in the first place soooo....
  24. yup. I learned that the hard way. :(
  25. I believe MJ perches are 42 inches on center.
