  1. Agree. If it can't be balanced with a Road Force machine, the tire is square.
  2. Crappy one-of-a-kind ignition module. I remember later AMC junked the Prestolite system entirely for a Ford distributor.
  3. That's the Tie Rod End (TRE), left hand, to the Pitman arm. P/n 52005739. The other end attaches to what is commonly called the drag link. One of these off a Cherokee XJ will work, but they are not that expensive, so it's best to get a new one if possible.
  4. 1. There is no joint on a Pitman arm. Which part are you referring to from the below diagram? Image Not Found The VIN is on the left dash and firewall body plate on domestic models. Your export may be different, but I doubt it.
  5. You still running those square Walmart Goodyear Wranglers, si? And Walmart is probably the last place I would go for tire balancing or anything else. But that's just me.
  6. Door lock cylinders: 83505067, Black J8122874, Bright
  7. Accidentally disconnecting the ballast resistor happens all the time. Replace the crappy stock ballast resistor with the loose spade terminals with one that uses secure stud and nut terminals like the JA701 resistor below from Autozone. Will save you some grief and time down the road.
  8. No need then if it's been changed already. I had a Wrangler briefly with the 3.6 - wasn't impressed. Only had it a few months and got rid of it, so didn't have much time with it. But the balancer went on it whilst I had it......
  9. I'd check the balancer. That's about when the harmonic balancer starts to shred on these engines.

  11. Bardahl Fus1on isn't sold in the USA.
  12. It was working for me, but stopped yesterday......
  13. BIG score on that Renix MJ sending unit. Impressive!
  14. This one works - I just downloaded it. https://www.google.com/search?q=atsg+aw4+jeep+manual&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=aw4+transmission+manual+download
  15. Go HERE to download the AW4 manual. Do the MANUAL SHIFTING TEST in the DIAGNOSIS INFORMATION section and see what happens.
  16. College tuition costs are crazy now. That's why both my daughters went to college under ROTC scholarships. Both of them were raised in a military environment so it wasn't hard to convince them. Their scholarships covered about 85% of the total bill. They are both now working off their obligatory payback time; one is a captain in the USAF and the other is an Army reservist.
  17. The stock 10-blade 97+ curved blade fans pulls ~2250 CFM at HI speed. You're not going to find a reasonable priced aftermarket fan that will fit and pulls more CFM. They also can pull up to 12A-15A on startup so if you are running a dual stock electric fan setup like I do you must make sure the electrics (alt and mains wiring) can handle this kind of load when needed. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/electric-cooling-fan-cfm-rating-tests-results-1182706/
  18. When I had a bench years ago and had it reupholstered locally. Kept the outside grey vinyl as it was in good shape and just had cloth center sections replaced with rolled and pleated. It firmed it up and was tons better as I wasn't sitting in a hole anymore, but it was still a bench with zero lateral/side support. Later I found some XJ 2-DR buckets and sold the bench. I much prefer the buckets.
  19. That's a new one to me. Although putting anything from an HO into a Renix is always an upgrade. :rotfl2: But I'll let the Renix experts reply on this one.
  20. TCU? TCU = Transmission Control Unit. Not an upgrade. You must mean ECU. Pretty sure the Renix 89 and 90 ECUs are the same.
  21. As huge as that rear deck is, maybe a whole flock of fat chicks....
  22. Factory Service Manuals (FSMs) are model year specific. For the 88MJ in your signature, you can download the electrical manual HERE. I like the printed manuals because I can refer to them when doing electrical stuff on the vehicle, and can pen and ink any changes I make. Buying a full FSM set is money well spent. Official AMC/Mopar FSM sets show up on Ebay regularly for your model/year. The Chiltons and other aftermarket junk are too generic and basically worthless IMO.
  23. Let me know if this works for you:
  24. Overhead console for what? XJ?
  25. Check (or replace) the O2 sensor. I think Cruiser has a writeup in the DIY forum on checking the Renix 3-wire sensor.
