87 2.5L Hesitation At Crusing
TheDirtyJeep401 replied to Comanchemodder's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I was wondering if anyone else was having these problems too. Mine isn't as bad it just does it in second gear mostly, until it is completely warmed up. I'll be keeping an eye on this, hopefully you get it resolved. -
I just took wheels just like that of of my 86, I bet they will look nice on your MJ And what drop shackles and coil spacers did you use from Auto Zone? If you could even get part numbers it would be great.

Tylers Daily 4X4 Build
TheDirtyJeep401 replied to Comanchel0ver's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
You should be able to fit 31'' tires without a lift. You just might have some rubbing on the LCA (Lower Control Arms) But that can be adjusted. By the way, nice MJ - 99 replies

Project "Black Betty"
TheDirtyJeep401 replied to shelbyluvv's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
I don't know why I never saw Betty before. I love seeing black long bed comanches, espically 86. Awesome to see a black 86 other than mine. You will have to put some more pics of it up soon. I probrably will be needing some inspiration from this beautiful truck! -
2.5L Power Upgrades
TheDirtyJeep401 replied to Tyler Tafjen's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Am I the only one bothered by this statement? The 86-90 4 cylinders have NOTHING in common with the 4.0. You cannot swap the throttle bodies or any parts in between for the one pure and simple fact that the 86-90 4 cylinder is throttle body fuel injection. The statement of popping a 4.0 throttle body only applies with like-year 4 cylinders and 4.0's from 91 and up, because they are both multi port fuel injection. Indeed i was wrong wasnt thinking about it. At that time I was thinking of three differnt engines. I know that mine is Thrtolle body injected. Later on the line I found a Multi Port that I want to install in it on down the road. It was late at night and I guess i stared to combine engines and stuff together, my bad. -
Body work would not be such a problem. :laughin:

Blue88Comanche Pioneer 4X4
TheDirtyJeep401 replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
You get the cable installed? Hows It holding up? Good to see everything is working properly so far. -
Now comes my next question, can I take all the peices off of it for the multi port, and put it on my 2.5? Or would I have to get the whole engine? I know there other peices that I need but didnt know if the blocks are the same. I like the Muti Port design and would like to put it my Comanche sometime down the line of years. Never seen one before (Although I never really payed attention either) Thanks

I was at the salvage yard (As Usual) and the 2.5 i pulled my valve cover off was electronically fuel injected. It was in a Cherokee. So does that mean later year of Cherokees had EFI 2.5?

Vent Vaccum Lines
TheDirtyJeep401 replied to TheDirtyJeep401's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have 2 hoses that are coming off of the reservoir, one going in right next to the blower, and one going through the firewall, I'll post pics tomorrow. Thanks for the diagram too, I'll be needing it. -

Vent Vaccum Lines
TheDirtyJeep401 replied to TheDirtyJeep401's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think I found it, because there is no hose. Do they make replacements or do I have to make my own? Thanks for the help cruiser -
I was told that there is a vaccum line that is used to open the dash vents, anyone have a pic of where it is suppose to be? Trying to fix the vents to where they don't only come out the defroster. It's an 86 2.5 thanks in advance.

Uhh White Sludge?
TheDirtyJeep401 replied to TheDirtyJeep401's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Wow, sounds like one vaccum leak comprimises the whole truck. It blows the hot air through the top and a little bit of cold out the bottom. Ill check the vaccum lines again. Could the vents on it not be hooked up? Just wondering. Thanks for the help guys. -
Sad to see you go, this was one of my favorite long beds that I admired. Good luck with finishing it.
