Nused XJ and weird mirrors
yellaheep replied to shelbyluvv's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
That XJ is a nice, clean find! Sure is amazing what a set of wheels will do to a vehicle. I like it! I gotta say though...... I couldn't put that mirror on. Stirs up bad feelings. The travels that arabic XJ has had would make for an interesting story for sure though. -
Seats (sorry for beating a dead horse)
yellaheep replied to buckwheat's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This would be a piece of cake with some '94 and earlier XJ front seats and slider assemblies......... IF your floor brackets on those modified seats were whole. Those appear to be the floor brackets from a bench seat that had been in place prior to the modified seats. Unfortunately, only 3 of the 4 of those brackets are ok, one was hacked up (looks like the front bracket on the passenger seat......?) All you'd have had to do was bolt those brackets in place of the XJ floor brackets and put the seats in. So, with that said...... you need replacement floor brackets, or at least one front bracket from a bench seat. Question still needs asked - what kind of seats do you want to put in? Looks like you may have a partial or full late model interior swap going on in this truck? If you're wanting to mount late model seats in then you're still talking quite a bit of fabrication to make the seats work with good, solid metal sliders and floor brackets. Do some thread searching about installing bucket seats here on the forum, do some googling and see what kind of photos there are out there of other folks fab ups. -
Found a set of bumper brackets mixed in with XJ parts. Based on the paint overspray, I believe I took these from an '86 I parted out. I assume these are only good for long bed since they don't have the little flare out that the later brackets have on the frame side?

The floor brackets from the bench seat will allow you to mount XJ buckets and sliders. That is if you're ok with butchering your bench seat. If not, I have brackets I could sell ya to do the XJ bucket swap. I don't have any OEM MJ brackets and sliders that I wanna part with at the moment. Real good write up here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/7656-making-xj-buckets-work-in-a-mj/

I have a pair of agate manual front door panels from a '97+ here in Littleton Colorado. I could make a cardboard "box" for them to ship 'em but from experience, a box that large gets pretty expensive. Was $45 to ship one rear fender flare to NY. It was laid flat on a piece of cardboard, wrapped in bubble and shipping wrap.

I have a solid and VERY rust free, straight bodied '88 non-A/C 4.0, 5 speed, 4x4 short bed. You can see details and a couple pics here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/50655-littleton-colorado-2-88-mj-projects-for-sale/

I believe I have one. Have to check for certain. If I do, $45 shipped.

Found this guy at a local Jeep dealership
yellaheep replied to JeepsOLot's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's got a GM ignition so I'm guessing '87-'90? Pretty cool find! -

Rear Windshield Gasket Where can I find one
yellaheep replied to gai092460's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
LOL..... If only..... Rare as hens teeth these gaskets are. Haven't been made since OEM Jeep supplies ran out. -
Like a rocket. Still pulling hard. Wasn't the smoothest stretch to haul @$$ on as far as being nice and level (after 120, the little rises and falls begin to feel like serious whoop-de-doos!), but the newer asphalt was a helluva lot better than the cracked, crappy cement surfaces and dirt roads everywhere else around there. Other HC's have run 150-155 mph on 1-mile airport runways out here for super-car events. I'm gonna invest in a pair of hood pins.......... :D

Back from a Nebraska road trip to see family. Yes, I drove the Hellcat........across Nebraska....... in June........ 1. Arrival. Murdered bugs. 2. Top speed..... met a Nebr State Trooper that showed me a freshly paved 1/2 mile stretch between corn fields 2 miles out of town - as fast as I could get before running out of road (he even rode shotgun). 3. Average MPG on the trip home....not bad! 4. Home. More murdered bugs and one dead bird (lower left intake opening....gross. I've spared you the gooey shot...lol)

Is my MOPAR showing? :laughin: Used to be a hard-core GM guy, but since '99 I've not found any of the other truck brands to be worth a damn in comparison. Then Jeep really began to step up. When it came time to trade in our '07 Trailblazer SS in 2012 we couldn't find anything remotely close and were about to just keep it when we got talked into the WK2 SRT8. That was one helluva SUV but the Trailblazer SS with a set of Blizzaks was the best winter vehicle we've ever owned. The WK2 SRT8 could have been, but they don't make Blizzaks for it..... and the felt lined fender wells trap snow and ice so bad that you lose up-travel in your suspension and the ability to turn the front wheels after a long highway drive. Pretty dangerous really. The 3 MOPAR vehicles we have now....... I think will be the perfect trio for us.

A Hellcat MJ huh? Yikes :D Family photo.....

I did quite a bit of research into all 3 of the SRT options offered for the Challenger - Scat Pack, SRT8 and Hellcat. I initially intended on getting a much more budget friendly Scat Pack car and I drove both - I preferred the 6 speed. However the track only suspension assigned to the Scat Pack quite simply.......rode like @$$. My wife told me to step up to the SRT8 package with the selectable suspension. Street mode rode great and again, the 6 speed was a fun transmission. The 6 speed in the Hellcat on the other hand is a whole different animal. It's a Viper trans with external oil cooling and the dual clutch pack. Forum threads had indicated that this clutch isn't good for daily driving unless you modify your normal clutch operation. Feathering these clutch set ups causes friction blue-ing and warping of the friction plates and within 1000 miles, you end up with nasty clutch chatter and heat polishing of the surfaces. The clutch in the Hellcat is meant to be engaged or disengaged, nothing in between. Plus.... a skipped shift in a 700 hp drive train can be damaging. So I opted for 8 speed auto. It's an amazing trans setup and super fast shifting. Paddle shifters and the auto-stick feature give you some cool alternative driving experiences too.

My wife is doing very well in her career path as am I..... mid-life is hitting me hard...... some little demon keeps whispering "Yolo" in my ear....... I felt it was time I recognized...... I deserve it. 2016 Hellcat. With this being said...... yeah, I've made the difficult decision that I need to part with some Comanche projects. If anyone is interested in adopting one of my MJ's hit me up via PM and we'll chat. Not sure I wanna part with my '91 Eliminator, but the '88 raceTruck and Metric Stroker Dually will need to be re-homed. Details can be found here: RaceTruck: http://comancheclub.com/topic/41177-my-88-mj-streetable-autocross-road-racer-build/ Dually: http://comancheclub.com/topic/39742-branching-out-from-eliminators-my-metric-ton-dually-build/?hl=dually

It's inside the fender well, closes the gap between the bed fender well and the frame rail. I can snap a photo later..... -
Comanche Rear Fender Liners
yellaheep replied to 1992EliminatorSWB4x4's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have 1 or 2 sets of the flare liners and the #15 splash guards that I've pulled off of parts trucks. PM me if interested. -
Tailgate, taillights, rear bumper with brackets - SHIPPED TO NORWAY?
yellaheep replied to Roar Nesbo's topic in Wanted
I shipped a bunch of stuff to Australia a couple years ago and prior to that, I used to sell custom leaf packs on line. The biggest pain in the keester was making the arrangements to get things from my state to a harbor shipper, arranging the transfer from USPS, UPS or FedEx to the container shipper and ensuring they got the items in the correct container for it's final destination. I had to build a long box using cedar fence boards to safely ship several long roof rack pieces and stainless trim for an XJ to Australia. Shipping the box to California was $75. The Aussie said that the shipping via ship container was another $120 and took 4 months to arrive as they wouldn't send the container until it was reasonably full. To send a pair of leaf packs to Iceland cost $600 U.S. plus the cost of the leaf packs. That was ridiculous. With that said, Roar Nesbo......... you might get better response to your request for parts if you figure out the shipping arrangements prior. If someone knows how they'd need to package the large parts, where they need to go and who to contact to notify them that the parts are coming, that'd help a whole lot. Shipping a bumper and tail gate to Norway sure seems like it'd take some logistical planning.
