  1. Looks like Zebvance has these on his rig too....... maybe he can send you in the right direction.
  2. LOL....... So Thursday morning I get a call...... it's the guy from the salvage yard in Nebraska. He found my phone. It was on the dirt driveway of the entrance to the yard, 20 feet inside the gate........ My cousin and I must have walked past it 4 times going to and from my truck while we were there. Effing hell. So, while I had the guy on the phone, I asked if by chance he'd seen that dipstick and tube I snatched from that Olds 330 block. He chuckled....... "Yeah, as a matter of fact, I just saw it.... it's propped up against the frame of the office door". He's gonna mail the damn things to me. Dunno what I can do with the phone as we sent the command to wipe and lock.
  3. GAWD! I'm thinking that junk yard is on an old Indian burial site...... I can't for the life of me find that dipstick now. Vanished. I've been cursed or something.......
  4. This morning we get the "find my phone" working...... accurate within 2,643 meters. The area on the map is bigger than the entire city of Wymore.....and the yard is 6 miles south of town, outside the area the app says my phone should be. Remotely wiped and locked it. Submitted a claim with Asurian, $149 and I get a new phone to my home monday. Those parts cost me $370.......lol
  5. So...... I find a truly AMAZING auto salvage yard in Wymore Nebraska today. Watts Salvage. 40 acres of which 30 acres is pre-'75 cars all the way into the late '20's. Incredible place, with some rare cars. So many of them complete as the day they arrived. I found the rear window stainless trim and dipstick I needed for the '67 Olds and a tail gate and tail lights from an MJ. Paid a reasonable price for the parts and on the way back to the truck...... my cell phone is no longer in the holder on my belt! Sonova!!! Walked the entire yard again. What isn't knee-high weeds is vehicles. No luck. Of course I had it on silent. Of course there's no service way out there so I can't use "Find My Phone". Get back to the room, I can't figure out how to use the app. Verizon customer service is useless to try to locate my phone ...... 42 min on hold because of issues with the new I-phone 7 tying up their lines, then "We're not allowed to find your phone for privacy and security reasons, you have to do it yourself".

    Legit?

^^This^^ And It's odd that it's labled "Cherokee to '84". What's that mean exactly? I'm thinking all Cherokees DOWN to '84? That would make sense, just worded odd. Usually "Fits Cherokees '84 - '01" or something like that. But yeah, it won't have the correct depth and contour to fit the MJ roof.
  7. Auction ended......... Bid got to just over $14K...... reserve not met. Anyhow, the seller sent me these photos of the window sticker:
  8. Pretty cool to see all the stickers or markings that were stuck on or written on these trucks from the factory. Kinda odd to me that it's a Laredo.... but has the uber-cheapie wheels. Thought the Laredo's had the 5 spoke aluminum wheels...... Also interesting that it's a Laredo but is a non-A/C truck. I know the auction listing says it was special ordered so I sent a message to the seller asking if he would add a photo of the original window sticker or any other documentation showing the "special order" info. Curious if anything documented shows that the A/C and or wheels were deleted from the typical package. Really neat to see, very nice find. I too hope they get a bucket of cash for it.
  9. Well that would explain why I hadn't heard anything outta Damien then........lol
  10. Been quite a while since I've heard anyone talk about D&C Extreme. Damien is a good guy. My yellow '93 XJ was used to prototype his cage kits for the 2 doors way back in the day. He was pretty instrumental in getting cages into quite a few 'Springs and Denver based NAXJA XJ's.
  11. I hope that's sarcasm Don......:D
  12. I'll just add that the air bag system for '95-'96 will require that you use the air bag control module if you intend to make the air bag functional. The module will be found either under the driver's seat or under the center console toward the back. I'd never want to add an air bag and rely on my wiring it in to work........ i'd be too paranoid of the damn thing going off and never enjoy driving the MJ ever again.
  13. New porch art....... Reclaimed barn wood, intentional rough construction using old nails and screws, even a rusty old bottle opener attached.
  14. Are you building this out of heavy gauge steel in order to call it a "bumper"? Or is this going to simply be a sheet metal filler panel?
  15. "Ben of the North-ish"? "Ben of the Not So North"? "Ben of the North of SoCO"? :D
  16. A museum?!?! C'mon man...... that truck needs to be driven and shown out and about. Hell, put it back on the track a time or two! I would drive the tires off that truck. Hey Neohic....... since you are apparently an Archer brother from another mother...... :D ....... maybe you should let Tommy know his former truck is for sale...... He might not even know it's out there.
  17. Quit bragging ya dork........ :D
  18. Resto modded, it's a $20-$30K car, restored to OEM stock, maybe $15K. Yeah I'll spend $15-$20K rodding it, but it'll be SOOOOO much more enjoyable to drive.
  19. The body on this car is simply unreal with how rust free it is. It came from southern nebraska and has 83K miles. The only rust is a small area on the pinch seam lower area of the rear window where the rubber seal sits. No body rot anywhere else. All the areas where the outer skins fold over the inner structures of the doors, trunk, hood....all are pristine. Same with all body mounts - usually the worst for holding road dirt and salt/de-icer....all pristine. Floor boards are amazing. Been garaged all its life.
  20. Nope. Engine broke a valve spring retainer in one of the cylinders so it sounds like an angry midget with a hammer under the hood. The radiator seeps from several spots, and I screwed up by putting DOT 3 brake fluid in the system when it should have been silicone based so all the cylinder seals dissolved. At this point it makes no sense to throw money at it for stock parts when the plan is to do a V8 with modern suspension and such.
  21. Making room in the garage....... by using a portable garage. $1500 for an 18' dry van box on a heavy camper frame. Added screened vents, a winch, platforms over the wheel wells, wheel chocks screwed to the platforms, $100 craigslist ramps, roof support for snow load, and roof seams sprayed with Flex Seal. Probably been 10 years since Old Mary has been out of the garage. All clean......tires aired up, gas tank & battery removed. Off to the storage lot......
  22. That's one helluva nice truck Jim! I totally understand the complete inability to turn one of these away when you're trying to thin the herd.... been there, done that! Wanna sell that winch mount / brush guard on it? :D I just got rid of one because I couldn't find any mounting brackets for it. Who removes one of those and doesn't take ALL of the brackets????
  23. I have them here in Colorado....... They'd be a pain and probably a bit on the pricey side to ship with as long as they are.
