  1. Take the fabric off the foam and wash it in the washer with some strong cleaners, on cold. If it doesn't come cleaner you can always trash them at that point. This is very easy to do on the rear seats, front takes more work to take apart.
  2. Cool, but why not at least get a twin turbo while you are there? Or a TT 2+2? Or something not sold in the US like a r32? I have had a couple of z32s, still have 2 right now, including my convertible I converted to twin turbo about a decade ago. http://www.colorado4wheel.com/content/93zxset1.html
  3. What does it take to get that smogged in CA?
  4. Ya......what engine did it have?
  5. um...........can you post some pictures of the jeep they came off of? door tag? Not that this really matters but its all really interesting, thats clearly an export vehicle mirror...what tail lights did it have? thats a really odd vehicle to wind up back in the US......
  6. With the help of freerider I picked up this camper top for the MJ. Looks like it was originally from an S10. Heavy SOB, picked it up friday night and got it set on this morning. Lets see what 2018 brings.
  7. The images have not been resized, so I posted them as links.
  8. So we hit the junkyards this weekend and picked up a few things. Got a proper 97+ cooling fan, he had an old 94- flat blade fan. Picked up a set of 99+ sport seats in great condition. Grabbed a 00 XJ limited drivers side electric base and added it to the sport seat. Electric seats are $2 more than manual seats, didnt even get charged extra for the electric base, nice score. Got a 00 XJ trip computer and installed it in the yard into a ZJ short console for sunroof. This is pretty rare to find the ZJ with factory sunroof, and they have a short console so it works well for the MJ roof, then putting in the XJ trip computer means it will function 100% correct for the XJ. Got an antenna plastic mount that had been missing off of his. Got a clockspring - his clockspring was from a Jeep with blown airbags. His airbags are installed in the jeep, but the connector for the airbag was trash. Got the new one installed and the airbag light is off, airbags should be 100% functional now! We also picked up a bunch of small stuff from thejeepgod. The two of us are working an upgrade in Freeport the bahamas for a few weeks, hopefully when we get back we can get some more stuff installed on his Jeep. http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_8031.JPG http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_8033.JPG http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_8034.JPG http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_8036.JPG
  9. Coworker picked this up in December. We lucked out and got bored at work and checked CL, noticed this was just posted. Managed to be the first people to check it out so my buddy bought it. It's 90MJ with a 97 drivetrain/front clip. Got some nice upgrades on it, and mechanically its sound. Its a solid body thats been stripped to bare metal and repainted. Seems like the guy who built it got it about 90% done, and then either was happy with it, or got tired of it and moved on. The AC needs to be finished - Its missing most of the AC components. Airbag light is on. No parking break. Old style XJ seats in a 97+ No carpet. Missing a few interior trim pieces or not installed right. Door panels are ratty. 97 two tone interior. So its seems like someone did a whole bunch of things right - but just totally half assed the interior. The good thing is that an interior revamp is minor project compared to everything else, for my buddy that means that for a little bits in some used parts, and some labor, he can make it into a pretty clean interior MJ with a solid drivetrain. The good news is that its imminently wheelable and useable, and everything else is just small project stuff. http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_7158.JPG http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_7159.JPG http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_7160.JPG http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_7161.JPG http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/IMG_7162.JPG 3" coils, upper/lower control arms, HD trackbar, SYE. D44 rear with aussie locker. Rock rails. Owner made front/rear bumper. Custom tail light things(yuck IMO).
  10. B20 is a good blend to run. And the energy content is almost the same as regular diesel. B5 - B20 gives the best of both worlds. The added lubricity, cetane boost, and energy content being about the same. Biodiesel is a good solvent, so if you have junk your tank it will start to scrub it out. If you were to switch and start running higher concentrations you might start plugging up your filters as it scrubs years of accumulated junk from the tank. Ive run everything from B100 to regular diesel in the Jeep(KJ) I really only notice any hit in mileage above B50. The smell of the exhaust and the sound start to change the higher in % you go. Smells like fries!
  11. The only panel to remove on a 2001 is the kick panel. Two screws at the bottom and the top pops off. Two more screws that hold in the metal kick panel and the entire wiring loom that the remote start requires is right there. The Yellow wire in the loom is the start wire. If you want to tie into lock and unlock for remote start you will need to run over to the passenger side fuse/junction block.
  12. Been there many times, easy repair the one you just had, when I was flipping cars I would have loved to pick that up for $600 from auction.....when in reality it would probably sell for more like 2k here. This was a pretty similar repair I did awhile back: http://colorado4wheel.com/images/portfolio/samsauto.html
  13. Ya those 97+ quick disconnects suck compared to the older style. About the hardest part of the job there.
  14. Replace a bunch of keyless entry remote batterys. I have a rechargable flashlight that is cranked by hand to recharge that uses those.
  15. Haha no. It came with the van.

  17. Did it have a return address? Who was it addressed to?
  18. So that was the outcome of the outcome of that whole ordeal. Craziness.
  19. Only wear and tear really is from the guy on a Harley trike who rear ended me. I just installed some 01 limited seats in her, very comfy.
  20. Ya after doing some research I figured it was that too, I wish I could figure out the displacement as that would tell me the year better.
  21. I really want one of those, or an old truck, but I have so much other stuff to finish up first. Dammit.
  22. Cool. The silver looks nice, while I would never run that wheel I can appreciate the cleaned up aesthetics.

  24. What I ran into was that you needed both the hub spacer and a brake caliper spacer, I think the brake caliper spacer was the new variation in my setup. I think its a nice option if you want to upgrade brakes anyway, and you don't like the added width of the spacers.
