  1. Then you'll need a large shop press to get the new collars onto the shafts.
  2. No. They're completely different.
  3. When I did mine, I just spliced the newer light sockets into the original factory wiring. Pretty simple.
  4. I have a reman Durango box in my MJ. It's from a 99 V8 4X4. It has to meet each of the three criteria.
  5. I already had 97+ doors on the MJ. But my buddy was parting out his 2000 XJ and I snagged his doors because they were in much better shape. I got them swapped out and put some new stickers on.
  6. Should be on the engine block near the distributor.
  7. As you said, a lot of people are not aware that Jeep made a pickup. From a distance an MJ looks kinda similar to a Toyota. The only giveaway for most people is the big JEEP logo on the tailgate. By the time people realize it's a Jeep, it's too late to wave. :D A Wrangler is much more easily identifiable from a distance. I just went out and put the Trail Rated badge back on the MJ. ;)
  8. A 92 has the double-sided key.
  9. I've read your post over and over again and still can't figure out what you're asking. One second you're talking about the A/C idler pulley. And then you mention a dust cover/hub. :???: :???: Are you talking about an A/C delete pulley and bracket? If so, I have one for a Renix sitting in my garage.
  10. When I did mine, the lock cylinders from the new door and the old door had different diameters. So I couldn't use the older cylinders. I took the new cylinders out and had them redone to match my ignition key. Cost $7 at the locksmith who hangs out at the local Pick-A-Part parking lot.
  11. I am a poseur and proud of it. :D My buddies got a good laugh, which is why I did it. Even some guys going the other way on the 'Con chuckled at it. Believe me, I put it back on the side of my tool cart where it belongs.

    what is your DD

MJ is my daily driver. It's my only driver.
  13. I had a couple of TR badges on my old 96 XJ. When I rolled the Jeep, I took the badges off and put them "somewhere". Just recently I found one of them on the side of my tool cart. Just kinda slapped it on the MJ as a joke before we ran the Rubicon Trail in June.
  14. any downside to this, like lack of travel/articulation? i've been considering this when i do the soa, in order to keep from having to lift the front 8 feet in the air to level it out. I haven't noticed anything yet. But I'm holding on to the MJ shackles, just in case. ;) BTW, good to see you over here Justin.
  15. I used XJ shackles to lower the rear a half inch, which leveled it out nicely.
  16. I got a universal kit like that for my 94 Protege so that I could get rid of the stupid automatic belts. As it says in the description, modifications were needed to make it work. I had to cut up the pillar trim to mount the retractor. It turned out okay, but it obviously did not look factory. You could make it work on an MJ, but you may have to get creative.
  17. 2.5 and 4.0 clusters don't interchange. The tach will be off.
  18. Should just bolt up. They changed the floor mounts in 95, so anything 95 and up should work.
  19. Yup, I have the MORE rubber mounts. At first, there were some vibrations. But the next day, I had to make a 200-mile drive. After that, no more vibes. Can only imagine what the poly mounts would be like.
  20. A few more...
  21. Definitely the plugs are different. I have a 97+ fan in my MJ. Just had to splice a couple of wires onto the older connector.
  22. Interesting selection of vehicles. Crowley Lake is up by Mammoth Mountain, which is defintely a cool place to visit.
  23. I used the M.O.R.E. perches http://www.mountainoffroad.com/Catalog/ ... ounts.html These are for a Dana 44, which has 2.75" axle tubes. They'll probably also work on a D35, which has 2.62" tubes.
  24. I'm a 60's kid too. :D Thanks for bumping my thread. It's been a couple of months. I've completed my York OBA system. Works great. Been wheeling it a lot lately. Sustained some damage to the bed, but nothing that can't be fixed. Next up... I have a pair of brand new RE longarms that need to go on. I also have some perfect 2001 doors that will replace the 98 doors on there now. And of course, some bodywork and paint.
  25. Got the York OBA system operational on Thursday. Went wheeling in Big Bear Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Truck did great. But I did get some slight damage to the bed.
