  1. 2.75" (tube) by 1/2"-5/8" (diameter) by about 8" (length) 1/2" diameter would be fine for a street or mild off road truck. 9/16" or 5/8" diameter for trucks that are wheeled more. I've got a set of brand new 1/2" u-bolts from Currie Enterprises that I can send you for say $30 shipped.
  2. I had one of their rear bumpers and tire carrier on my XJs. They do make some nice stuff.
  3. It seems that the Street Comanche was a California promotion and there is an Archer Bros. in Hayward, California. So I was always under the impression that they were built in NorCal. :dunno: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... 96&start=0
  4. I bought one for my MJ last year. No problems...so far.
  5. If I'm not mistaken, all of the Street Comanches were built by Archer Brothers in NorCal.
  6. Zax. ;)
  7. Cool. I've seen a couple of Street Comanches in the local junkyards. But both of them had the numbered plates removed from the glovebox door.
  8. That place charges $217. I believe I got mine from this place and it was only $117. http://www.stockinteriors.com/items.asp ... uck_Carpet They have options which add to the price like, ultra plush and mass backing. But I just got the basic no-frills carpet and it fits and looks good.
  9. The backing plates/caliper brackets are a one-piece unit.
  10. Yes, I got the parts for my 8.25 from a ZJ D44A. The tubes were pretty close between the two axles, so not much grinding was needed. I thought I already did. :) Explorer backing plates, reman calipers from Kragen, Centric pads and rotors, Raybestos e-brake shoes, Rubicon retainer plates, braided brake hose, KJ e-brake cables. I accumulated all the parts over a period of time, so maybe it just feels inexpensive.
  11. Just a little motivation to go the disc route. These are actually Ford Explorer discs on my D44. I did the ZJ rear disc conversion on my old XJ's 8.25. Very similar installation. I was able to do the swap on the cheap. Got the Explorer mounting brackets on a 1/2 price day at the junkyard. Rotors and pads are cheap enough already. For the calipers, I took the JY ones in as cores and got some reman units.
  12. No, I went back to the junkyard and the entire Jeep was gone. Cody - You're on NAXJA, aren't you? I'm hoping to get out to Big Bear in January to do some snow wheeling.
  13. Mounted up some new BFG KM2s. It sure is nice to have brand new tires. My old Bighorns were pretty worn out. Now I just have to touch up my scratched up beadlock rings.
  14. I kept blowing the dash light/tail light fuse. Turned out to be a short in the trailer wiring.
  15. Yup, I have. I bought a set a few years ago for my 96 XJ. Then got another set from the same guy for my MJ. The first set I got, I ruined by putting too much glue on. Finkaz sent me another set for free. On my MJ, I used double sided tape instead of glue.
  16. The header panel will bot to the fenders just fine. It'll just look funny where the rounded header panel meets the squared off fenders.
  17. Saw this a couple weeks ago down in Bay of LA in Baja.
  18. A buddy of mine has a sweet setup in his Cherokee. He mounted an external Bosch fuel pump under his rear seat. Now he can change the pump in 5 minutes. I will ask him for the part number. He said he could do the same on my MJ, but we'd have to find a good location for it. Last year, I changed the fuel pump with out dropping the tank. Yeah, it was a PITA. And I didn't get the lockring back on right, so I leaked a lot of gas when I went to fill up. Had to drop the tank to do it right.
  19. Was this Monster's Ball?
  20. The consoles were the same through 1996. The 1997+ consoles will work, but you have to drill a couple of holes. I have one in my MJ. Either console will work with any seats.
  21. VIN? Did it still have the body kit? How much if you sent me the glovebox door with the tag on it? Rob L. Didn't get the VIN. Every piece of the body kit was trashed. The glovebox didn't have the tag. But I could see the outline of where it was before someone snagged it. I'd probably still get the body kit pieces. When I say "trashed", I mean cracked and broken into a million pieces. It was hardly recognizable as a Street Comanche.
  22. VIN? Did it still have the body kit? How much if you sent me the glovebox door with the tag on it? Rob L. Didn't get the VIN. Every piece of the body kit was trashed. The glovebox didn't have the tag. But I could see the outline of where it was before someone snagged it. Crap. Thanks. Hey, did anyone ever get the body kit off of that other one? I know Don was interested... Rob L. :dunno: No. When I went back to pull the parts for Don, the Jeep was gone.

  24. Went to the junkyard today and found yet another 87 Street Comanche. It had been picked over pretty well. But I got the passenger seat for $12. The seat looks like nobody had ever sat in it. I also nabbed the AC delete pulley and bracket, if anyone needs it.
  25. I think some did and some didn't. I bought a tailgate from the junkyard that had the Metric Ton badge on it.
