Are you using the BA/10 Trans Mount or the AX15??? -
I have the RR ones in my MJ and they fit fine and No movement whatsoever... I had the Jeep Slush matts and Wore the driver side heal out very quickly and was not happy with them then I switched to the RR style...

It bolted up perfectly for mine and All you needed to do was remove the inner bracket that attaches to the unibody... XJ's only use 2 bolts per side to mount the cross member where MJ's Use 4... -

3:55's is right for the AX4 manual If it were an Auto 4 Banger then it would have 4:56's

Project 4 seat MJ, Killed in the womb.
Jeepman replied to Lord Beckbury's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Ya I miss read what The System told me so Yes Not missing a Digit, It couldn't understand the digits probably due to the starting digits... Chrysler Corp would be best to decipher... -
Love it although not the Sexiest street machine... Cool for sure but the question I would have is what Licence would you need, I always thought anything with more then one seat doesn't qualify as a Hobby type of craft... I can just picture it now, your speeding down the road and OH No the Cops are Trying to pull you over so you hit the Highway and drop those wings and BYE BYE officer...

I more then likely Have an owners manual kicking around as I have parted out just about every Year Comanche there was... Let me check and Get back to you as soon as I can unless your in a hurry...
-
What Year is the MJ??? Anything 91+ you can just go to the dealer with the ownership and Your ID and They can cut you a New Key from the VIN number... Everything Older is Slim Jim or Bust a Window, I would lean towards the Slim Jim method over the mess of a broken window...

I have done this exact Swap in my 89 a few years after I got it as the Renix engine I had in it was bad... AS said it is easier then people make it out to be and nearly plug and play... In My case I used a complete donor XJ and I think it was a 93 XJ and swapped everything in from the XJ to the MJ, dash and interior harness as well as engine and engine bay harness and the Only issues I found were... - Need to adapt the MJ Rear Harness to the Newer XJ harness which again was not that difficult once you identify each wire in the XJ harness and the Rear MJ harness then cut and splice and away you go - Fuel pump resistance is opposite so if you do not address this then when the fuel gauge is empty its actually full and full is empty... (I used a Brand new 93 XJ sender and Cut and modified it to become a MJ sender) I ran it like this for a few years then did the 97+ Conversion and OBDII Swap which I like a lot better... I would say if you do not want to do the 97+ conversion ever then the OBDI is worth doing over the Renix system just expect to be down for a while as You learn as you go...

I would do something unique with it if you have the money and Time... I am currently dong a 4.0L- 4.7L stroker and Supercharged with my current truck and I plan on doing a Newer 5.7 Hemi Swap one day in the near future but not necessarily with the same truck... Only way I would go Chevy is If I had an 86 like yours since that's what likely came in it anyways but maybe the 3800 Supercharged V6 not a big V8, as I already have just about everything to do the 3800 swap but its stored away till I find a Nice 86...

Looking Good..

Double check the Battery Connections because a loose cable connection will cause this problem as well...
