Has anyone ever given the MJ a "full facelift"?
WahooSteeler replied to AutoMoto's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah that truck was actually an xj front end, i.e. including "cab" put on an MJ frame and then an XJ rear grafted on to the bed. IIRC, the tailgate was actually from the hatch of an XJ also ans was made to swing open. there was another MJ IIRC was in CO and the guy had worked in 97+ XJ tailights. Real nice job, was a dark blue truck. And our same member that spotted it a few years ago saw it again recently and snapped updated pics. The original pics it looked like it had been freshly painted etc. and the recent pics the truck had lost clear coat and started peeling. Could probably find in a search. -

wouldn't a facelift in the rear be a rearlift? or at least a buttlift? :smart: -
Stroker Project 1989
WahooSteeler replied to Red 1989 MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, that is a damn good price for the ATK stroker. But I know nothing about these engines, and there isn't a whole lot of info on them in the Strokers forum either. The Golen and Titan strokers (about the same price) however have a lot of info there, mostly bad. Not because I have one, but you seldom see any bad feedback on the Hesco motors, except how expensive they are. Guess it's like anything else - you get what you pay for. :D Well, even though Mopar says upfront that they are built by ATK, Mopar still has it's name on it so you have to assume they have done some testing to feel confident about outsourcing it to ATK. -
Stroker Project 1989
WahooSteeler replied to Red 1989 MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I couldn't believe it when someone said from Mopar it was under $3k, $4800 is what I would have expected for a dealer price. Don, IYO is the ATK price a good value? From what I remember of what you have in yours and other numbers I've seen from people, it seems like it is. Did everyone notice the higher HP/Torque ratings on the ATK site over the Mopar site? -
Stroker Project 1989
WahooSteeler replied to Red 1989 MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's killer. Although, us Renix guys miss out. Not that we can't still do a stroker. Don, what are your lates dyno specs compared to the proposed numbers for the crate engine? -
LOL, saw the turdy-five and beat-down truss too. At least he's not asking a COMPLETELY ridiculous price.
-
Somebody made a lot of money off of him. Willy I saw that one too. He appears to have the money to blow, considering the Porsche in the carport etc., but even at $75/hr and looking at some of the pics (i.e. underside is the same as any other MJ) I can't come up with enough hours of work to spend $25k on it? Nice truck though.......

Stroker Project 1989
WahooSteeler replied to Red 1989 MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got a link to that writeup mate? In addition, that factory stroker hasn't been offered yet, correct? -
That would go in the "what did you do to your MJ today" meaningless thread. :smart: I refuse to use that stupid thread. That's what this project section is for. Exactly.
-
that's been on here before and even had a link to a video where he drove it up and down the parking lot. squats like a monster truck when he gets on it LOL.
-
from straight on, just doesn't quite sit right. yet, from 3/4 angle and the side shot, looks killer. :chillin:

I'm guessing that this is a typo. That's an 86 Comanche X. Well at least according to the badges. :dunno: Here's the link to it. http://norfolk.craigslist.org/cto/1441029745.html Would be nice to have and if indeed the engine is new. Price is fair but a little too rich for my blood. I'm in the under a $1000 club. that's not that far from you, soooooooo, when are you going to see it?

jeep comanche with jeep liberty rims
WahooSteeler replied to buddy208's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14680&hilit=laredo Here you go. Great pic of what they look like. Looks great on this Laredo IMO. ncgamedog, don't sell yourself short, those AEV wheels ain't no Liberty wheels. -
I don't know how accurate this is, but ran across this doing a basic craigslist search for Comanches. That's nearly a year and a half of mourning if we have a moment of silence for one per day. :( http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?p=870720

I'd like a picture of Tawny Kitaen spread eagled on the hood like she did on the Jag in the Whitesnake video. I'd settle for Jessica Simpson standing next to it in her Daisy Duke outfit, with ample cleavage hanging out please.

those have actually been around for a few years IIRC. i don't see it happening.
-
and then if you ever need them just swap out from the busted/rusted parts LOL!
-
 can't blame you there

My 87 MJ - a work in progress....
WahooSteeler replied to KMAPRO's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Is she a Metric Ton? How many leaf springs does it have? -
so the real question then is, are you planning on keeping or selling? is the bumper chrome :brows: or black? anyhoo, if you are selling i'd be interested in the bumper and tail lights. Hell, all of it I guess. :dunno:
-
That's what she said! :rotfl2: C-Dub, you should have mounted it with the skull face looking up at you (IMO)!
-
The 87, 2wd, 2.5L, AX5.......swapped a few parts with the 88 and sold it. Never planned on keeping it, but was hard to let go. The 88.....with desired future look. Pic is before minor lift, 31s and Ravines. I'm definitely a long bed fan.
