4dr XJ Sliders on a SWB MJ?
Motion Offroad replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They are quite different and without major modification will not work. -
New Exhaust Manifold?
Motion Offroad replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you weld the factory OEM one it will just crack again in a different space. In my opinion it's not worth the hassle to have it welded just to have to yank it back off down the road again. -
Wheel adapters/spacers???
Motion Offroad replied to Jasonapsmith's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Rough Country's are not hub-centeric. Spend the extra money and get a set of the Spidertrax spacers that are hub-centric. You'll want part number WHS-002 (1.25"). -
Waggy springs have a lot less free-arch than a factory MJ spring does (aka it's a flatter spring). They also have a different spring rate (aka waggy's weigh quite a bit more than the MJ's do). Going with an essentially flat leaf (aprox 5" of free arch) as the Waggy springs are in a SOA application on our MJ's will have a very short life even without any added weight in the bed.

ravine rims question
Motion Offroad replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The "J" refers to the shape of the rim in cross section. (not important really) -
Deep in the heart of Comanche County

Looks good Jay! -
I'm assuming it's the Perma Cool kit (PN PMA10695)? They are correct in telling you that it is no longer carried by them. Here is directly from their system;

I highly recommend if your wanting to "upgrade" to go with something that mounts the upper mount in a double sheer setup. Also get something with a new upper bracket as the factory one just does not cut it. Out of all the one's you posted above, none of them do that. The RE one I'm assuming is the RE1600 which is total junk (heim sucks on them). I'd really consider the Rock Krawler one. Made of SOLID stock, comes with a new heavy duty mount, and a lifetime warranty. Retails for $200 but can be had for less ($179). Here is a review on the RK vs. the RE.

School me on shortarm v.s. longarm lifts
Motion Offroad replied to A-man930's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Longarms have nothing to do with what type of wheeling you do. Better flex is just a by-product of having them. At that height (6.5") your control arm angle's are just way to steep and the ride will suffer greatly. Additionally if you ever try to go over anything, your jeep will be pushing itself over the axle, not pushing the axle forward with it. Having your control arms at that angle (short-arms) at that height your putting more abuse on your uni-body and just asking for trouble down the road. Longarms are the answer. -

If you add up all the above 3 shipments you'll get an actual shipping weight of 79.20lbs from the carriers. Pretty dang close if you ask me. If we did not ship you anything than why can we offer proof that you've received 80lbs worth of product at Jet Carriers? Also your order was processed on 4/29 and final package was delivered on 5/21 (2 of them delivered within 12 days); that is no where near 4 months. We shipped your order per your request to Jet Carriers in New Jersey. We can't be held responsible for the delivery time from them to you in another country. We have provided this information to you both via email as well as online on our website under your account. We've provided 3 tracking numbers to you with the total weight adding up to your order total weight on your packing slip. We've clearly not shorted you anything. -Rebecca

If it's part number 7571 that info is incorrect. MO sells these and says this is the correct part# for 0-3". Actually said it's INcorrect (aka not correct). RC does not make a trackbar for the XJ/MJ under 4" of lift.
-
If it's part number 7571 that info is incorrect.
-
RC trackbar requires at least 4" of lift. Based on your sig I don't think your that high (correct me if I'm wrong). If your not than the RC bar will not work.

Project Frankienstien
Motion Offroad replied to Casper2000's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Not the exact same engine, but close (GM 5.3L (LM7) MPFI v8 mated to a GM 4l60e 4spd OD Auto Tranny). If this one fits into the MJ the LS1 will. (made them links to not clutter your thread) http://www.motionoffroad.com/promo/IMG_2394.JPG http://www.motionoffroad.com/promo/IMG_2397.JPG -
Factory OEM as well as the Custom 4x4 (C4x4) one's both do.

AW4 Compatibility questions
Motion Offroad replied to BJA814's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Also the output spline counts are different among the early/later years. So if your converting to 4WD you'll need the transfer case along with the tranny and not[ an older (later than 1990) transfer case. -
Spicer part number 221379. Should be less than $50 from any vendor (at least we sell it for less than that).
