  1. yeah you hook it up to a noid light and check the, oh boy, forgot the technical term. pulse width i think it is? someone help me out here. basically a light flashes. what you can do is go to napa and get some engine cleaner. clean the crap out of the area around your fuel injector get a new one put it on and if nothing changes bring it back say you don't need it no more. if it solves the problem then bravo
  2. in one pic you have a cherrybomb and the other an OE style?? what sup with that?
  3. personally i would use an arc on the "frame rails" on a uni-body. its thick enough where you can get some serious penetration from an arc.
  4. yeah, an arc welder is essentially a mig welder with a flux core wire instead of a solid wire. there are some others but that is the big difference in them. ive arc welded 1/32 before and its still covering that hole on my friends car
  5. i have heard from ear that a "legal" frame repair has to be done with an arc welder. i don't really care if you use a mig. its your truck I'm not so sure that it makes a difference (someone will correct me).
  6. i work at a garage. and ive had no bad problems with garages. but I'm only 17... jsut for the record Carworks will tell you your car is a pos or if we don't want to fix it. its a mom and pop store like you were saying
  7. exactly my thoughts. great for free if you don't want it i live in new hampshire
  8. wierd... wix is good stuff thats what we use at the garage i work at. i like the fire extinguisher idea, ill have to remember that
  9. i hate that so much. alright this owuld be pretty cool. get a cap that has a thermometer on it. ive seen them at car wal marts (autozone, advance some napa's, ect.) they arent too bad looking plus you could be like yeah well the oil in my truck runs about 240 degrees or whatever
  10. its a jeep thing, be proud.
  11. oh, usually i turn it 1/2 and drive it and feel it... maybe thats why the wheel stayed turning left and i hit a tree?
  12. :rotf: should be good with an intake bolt. on a SBC one of the point to lift from is on the intake
  13. :rotf: :clapping: :agree:
  14. yeap. it happened to my truck and i broke all 6 studs (chevy). i though i blew the axle u joint but mt tire was bouncing around on the hub. luckily for you, you cought it before your tire came off.
  15. what can i say? what works for some people does not work for everyone
  16. crank the heat and go slow you should be able to penetrate deep enough to take a few good hits to a tree.. or rock... or drunk driver
  17. its redneck and i like it
  18. make sure you paint the bolts too. if you don't it will look silly
  19. gasket remover and a razor blade will clean it up. no real need to sand it but if you'd like to then knock your socks off.
  20. well the average motor runs from 5-12 degrees of timing. so 8 is like a guarantee timing. but, now and then i forget about CPS so what I'm saying has no meaning at all and is just waisting space on some server.
  21. hit it with a timing light 8 degrees should be good. check under the hood it should say
  22. okay do this. check the battery for 12.6v or more. if its low, charge it, because you can ruin a starter by not giving it enough juice. then turn the key, if nothing happens jump the power from the batter to the power on the starter (directly down) if nothing happens its time for a starter. try banging the actual motor NOT the solenoid. its like a get out of jail free card, it only works once.
  23. yep, remove the dizzy, take a flathead screwdriver and chop the handle off and put it in a drill. fill engine with about half the oil required from factory, and spin the dizzy rotor with the screwdriver tip. pretty much the same way to prime a SBC yes just like
