  1. look at the price450  Thats a complete axle at most J-yards and all the needed parts to do the swap
  2. You are still going to need to weld on perches.. the exploders with on the spring plates is wrong
  3. Pete is very correct about the 8.8 and breakig a shaft I am kinda abusive on my junk, and no issues on a licncoln locked 8.8 on 35's. BTW I am easy with the skinny pedal... I mean I haven't shot a rod through the side of a block yet :D
  4. If you are going to change u-joints why not swap to a solid passenger side shaft and call it good. You can replace the seal in the outer portion of the housing and not have to do the inside one and have no issues. This is what I di on Pong before I bent my first d-30. As for the d-30 living with 35's. Before I upgraded to Yukon shafts I ate u-joints and stock shafts. I never went wheeling w/o at least 2 or 3 short shafts, abd a few rags and an outer. Just so I could get home. Once I upgraded i thought I was good, until I grenaded an Inner shaft at the splines
  5. I wheeled with a D35 for a few trips on 33's, and after destroying the 2 axles I upgraded. After wheeling several more times I am upgrading again. My point is.. I have seen way to many D35 and front D44 shafts explode. Granted it wasn't on what most here wheel, but peer pressure make ppl do some dumb stuff :brows:
  6. Run the reuglar exhaust up to the cat.. a short length of straight tubing.. then a glass pack and a turn down. Inexpensive.. can be installed by you, and if you wheel, it is cheap to fix. I also agree with Eagle 100% that "upgrading" your exhaust to something that big is a waste of your money. I wish I owned an exhaust shop so I could "upgrade" everyones truck. Around here ppl are replacing their single 3.5" on the chevy to a dual with 2.25" :hmm: for some reason I don't think it works to good.. cause I see a bunch of them switching back to stock parts :D
  7. You can redrill the front mount... if you want to use fullsize chevy springs :D Just make sure they line up right :brows:
  8. I hope u used some lock tight on those studs :smart:
  9. I must say it isn't my style but it is still cool as hell :D
  10. I am probrably going to run the Alcans a lil while longer... Until I can afford the stuff to link the rear. Linking the front is my first priority. For lockers it is going to be a Lincoln locker in the rear, and up front it more then likely will be a lunch box locker of some kind. Steering is going to be hydro assist or full hydro depending on how money shakes out
  11. YUP FF 14 bolt. Right now it is geared 4.10's  I know thats a lil low, but with what I have planned for t-cases I will still end up with a crawl ratio in the Mid 60's :brows: Plans are for 42's on H1 rims. Looks like I am going to be using Walker evan Coilovers as well. Motor looks like it is going to be a 350 So we weill see how quickly this shakes outBut it si going to be fun. Keep an eye out for build up special part sales
  12. It does it accelerating and declerating, under throttle as well. If I am towing it vibes real bad between 60 and 65, but no vibes at 40-50, and of course the dealer won't test drive it with a jeep behind it. As for the tires.. Bridgestone says.. "radials don't flat spot... especially e-rated tires, and the dealer is feeding you a line" So I am going to try and get it fixed again.
  13. Today I started deconstruction of Pong, as I have sold the axles  I ended up getting the 14 bolt in position, only to find out that I am going to need new spring plate and u-bolts  14 bolt waiting to go in 8.8 pulled out ended up pulling the leaf springs to make it easier to put the 14 bolt under there 14 bolt in position this is when I realized that the perches are a touch wider, and my spring plates and u-bolts would not snug up enough to make it useable  Front axle pulled D30 enjoying its last days at my house The axle taking its place I am going to have to wait till after christmas do anything else cause I don't know what Santa is going to bring me in the way of parts :D
  14. I have tried to send my pics in several times, and was told that the quality of the pic wasnt good enough.. or was it too small.. anyways I might try again once Pong is sitting on some 42's
  15. Now since we are on dealership stories... I have a couple. MY 05 2500 HD has a speed vibration at 45-50 mph before it shifts. Went to the dealer 3 seperate times for it so far. First time they rebalanced the tires. Second time they said they couldnt duplicate the conditon. Third time the told me it was cause my tires were flat spotting from sitting :hmm: Mind you the truck has a lil over 13000 miles on it and it does sit 95% of the time cause it is my tow rig/trash truck. I am going to take it to another dealer and let them look at it.. and if I get no satisfaction from them .. it is time to b*@$£ at GM
  16. I have an xj with the 4.3 in it, and I plan on doing something similar to Pong. It seems like a tight fit.. but really it isnt that bad, at least the 4.3 has more room then the 4.0. The mounts seem pretty easy to make. I am going to pull one side at a time of the xj, and have a buddy with some tech skills plot it out on some cad software. Keep in mind if you swap that v-8 you better upgrade some other parts :brows:
  17. the opening faces towards the front
  18. if you make it a sticky no one will read it. You almost have to do one just to keep the same pathetic questions from coming up like they do on Naxja and JF Or JU. what lift brand is better... at least we havent lowered our standards to that poo poo yet. If you need some help I will be more then willing to lend it
  19. More then likely I am going to do a double triangulated 4 link in the rear using air shocks or coilovers... I have to do some weighing of my rig to see if air shocks are an option. Expect to drop some serious coin if you want to do this. Just in joints your looking at 2-300 depending on what you use, thats not including steel and hardware, or the shocks for that matter
  20. I think they go lower.. I am just not sure though. Call Randy's or rieder to find out
  21. If you were closer i would lewt you pull my running motor out of Pong so I could start my engine swap
  22. I am a firm believer in the CO2 tanks or 12 volt compressors. Lets think about this your tore your rig up.. and now you have to replace(pick what ever part you desire) YOu have to have the vehicle running to use an engine driven unit... not always the best option if you have to work under it, or wher the exhaust is. 12v or bottle setup use it when needed. Only problem with tanks is they run out. Just as with engine driven system you might have to run the engine to charge the battery depending on how long it takes you
  23. If it was grinding when you were trying to engage.. either the tranny wasn't in nuetral/park, or the tranny hadnt stopped moving
  24. The f150 and bronco 44's its easier to keep the ford radias arm setup, and make mounts. Anyways... i am going to be selling a matching set of F-250 axles that are complete, I don't know how interested you would be in them... But shipping would be kinda high
  25. It was liveable... Just not something I liked. I think I still have it out in the garage somewhere... I will go check... To me its not the best set up for the money
