For that price you need to make a run to VA, and hit the local pick a parts. You can get the whole thing for 110... less if you bring a junk axle with you. The 4.10 thing.... keep an eye out... there is some one always upgrading axles, or going deeper... you just have to be patient

I would make sure all your connections are tight everywhere, especially if it only happens when there is moisture. also make sure you are not getting water in from another spot. -

I think anyone reading this post that is not from here or from another country might be offended, and tis potrays the "jeeeping" community and off roaders in a bad light. It makes us all seem like Rednecks. Remember this is the world wide web

I bent a front VD axle at Tellico a few yrs ago. They are strong, but anywhere there is a joint there is a stress riser in my opinion. When I swapped over to the non disco housing, I trussed the passenger side arm on the front and on both sides. Had no issues. Before I did that though, I ran another weld bead inside the mount, and along the outside. I also rewelded all the lca's mounts, and the coil bucket mounts, seems Dana or Jeep, or whoever did the weld work was not overly concerned with penetrating welds, or complete metal fusion when they performed the job

I had an 85 XJ that had a leaky slave cylinder, it caught the fuse box on fire..... talk about a bad day. Shortly there after I sold said jeep and never looked back -
I have been saying that for yrs, that the amount of power you gain from a "hi flow" exhaust is lost in fuel economy and in low end power. As eagle pointed out... it is rare that a 4.0 sees over 2500rpm, unless you are like me and believe in if you can't get up it.. put on a good show trying :brows: Seriously I have always ran 2" stuff with a glasspack on my rigs. Cheap and easy to repair if mangled.

Wow..... Talk about something that could offend a lot of ppl just cause you don't like immigrants. We all were immigrants at one time, and what makes America so great is our ability to accept other religions and ppls differences. :smart: Just to inform you of one simple fact... Islam is the largest religion in the world, and the fastest growing  BTW Australlia has all kinds of other laws governing things like, How long an immigrant has to be there before he can work, the whole gun law thng, and they don't share the same freedoms as we do

Thats cause the SSR are a radial I think. They are some nice wearing tires If you can keep them balanced, and properly inflated :brows: -
Advance sells a e-brake cable repair kit that is plent long to prefor this function, or you could go to a parts supplier, and ask them to find e-brake cables close to the length you would need. I would look at full size rigs, with manuals that had a center e-brake

Why are you going to sleeve and trus your axle? :hmm: Seems like you will be adding lots of weight. Just my opinion though

The problem with engine flushes is it loosens all kinds of junk and build up in the motor, and thins the oil. Then they want you to run your engine for 10-20 minutes, and unless your engine is in good shape to begin with, it ussually plugs your oil pump, and filter thus sending more dirty and thinned oil thru your motor, thus wiping out your bearings, and cylinder walls. None of these things are good things. I have heard of running kerosene (marvel mystery oil), ATF, and various other fluids thru your engine, it all seems like smoke and mirrors to me. Regular maintenace is key

To ship axles using a freight company is around 2-300, and they don't car if it is one or two on the pallet as long as you have access to a loading dock and a fork truck. Sometimes it is just cheaper to pay a carrier, unless you come across a deal like I did on my 60 and 14 bolt, the guy drove from Jersey to my house for 200 bucks.... I don't even think that would cover gas :brows:

School me on (bedless) Comanche's
pingpong replied to binderbart's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not to sound like a smart A$$ but the search function will yield more info faster then most of us can copy and paste links for that. :brows: Basically everything that was wrong and right with the XJ from 86 -92 , applies to the MJ, with few exceptions. -
AmsOil recommends flushing your engine if you switch from dino to synth, something about the varnish dino oil leaves behind. Keep in mind that synth is a thinner oil, and if you gaskets are old and worn, it can cause you to have more leaks

To me it is just in the way.... especially if you have to work on something on the lower front end

If they total your rig, make sure they don't give you a salvage title... It makes them harder to insure, and has to be inspected by the state police before they will give you tags (at least in VA). I say cut the bed off and make a truggy out of it (you all knew I would say that though)
