  1. Thats says it all :brows: As for me breaking the Yukon Shaft, they made good on it all ready. Looks like it was an improper heat treat, or something like that, cause it broke off funky, and it wasn't a typical place for a shaft to break. It broke on the splines, and no other failure was evident. Patrick
  2. Don't take their first offer. It also depends on what kinda policy you have, and that he other person involved had. Worst case, you buy back the wreck and make a truggy out of it :brows: Also consult a lawyer
  3. Welding the rear is just awesome :brows: keep in mind that if you see a lot of street driving be prepared to buy tires. For the front, the true trac is a limited slip right? that equals limited traction ;) I have been running a lock right upfront for 2 yrs, yes I had a problem breaking stock shafts  and as a matter of fact I just broke a 4340 this past w/e  but unless your rig is strictly off road I wouldn't wled both front and rear.
  4. Check your fuel pressure, sounds like your fuel pump might be going
  5. I like that :chillin:
  6. Ford has the divorced 205. stout transfer case. gear to gear with cast iron case. many upgrades are available for this, weka points are the output shafts. I also think lower gears are available, but thge popular thing to do is run dual cases using a 203 as a range box. Then there are the rockwell t-case. way heavy, and I don't know much about them. Patrick
  7. Skip the manual trannies :brows: and just go with the auto :chillin: Then the only thing you have to overcome is the renix system, and as stated earlier they are tough and reliable :agree: So why do ppl say avoid them :dunno: cause they don't know how to use a voltmeter, or diagnose a vehicles problem :deal:
  8. Talk about being able to recover your buddy :smart: That really isnt high considering  but that is if everything works though
  9. Go with Rv lights like mine. They have everything you need :D plus they are stylish :nanner: Try adjusting your Long Arms out to re-center your wheel, that might help with the way it looks :brows: BTW love the flat black 8)
  10. Especially owning a Comanche :brows: so as soon as you get a chance you need to sell it and buy a ricer car :chillin:
  11. I was going to say sawzall, or other powered cutting tool :nanner:
  12. The only time I wish I had a radio in my rig is.... when I don't want to listen to the piss poor spotting I am getting  Then I just want to blast some seek and destroy, or some wherever I may roam, or some other classic metallica tune and get in the zone as I destroy what ever is in my way
  13. I never thought we were going to see your rig all together  Good job  As for the shocks, the best thing to do since you don't have a bed in the way  is to build a custom x-memebr to mount some longer shocks to. Even if you use stock lenght shocks you will bottom out, and you won't have enough down travel, to make a difference :brows: Also whats up with all the fancy smancy doors and full fenders :loser:
  14. I loved the duece as well :D but there is nothing like a humvee in Panama during the rainy season :nanner: talk about fun :brows:
  15. If you remove the bumer from the bumper mounts you can access them from the end

    STOLEN!

Keep in mind that the Xj's were on the top ten stolen list for a long time, and since yours was so nice... well it probrably got stripped
  17. Not those little angels........ :D Jeff they are only angels in the yard.. Waldo has a lil bad a$$ streak.. he has to get muzzled when we go to the Vet or the groomer. PJ now.. the only thing to fear on her is when she jumps up on you and the tongue :brows: Pete, I agree that if you own a pet, you should be responsible, and leash them when there are others around, but like the example I posted earlier, it happens like that more often then not, especially at the larger public wheeling places. What scares me, is when you see the rednose pits, and the Colby pits at the same event held on a leash by lil kids. I just see bad things happening with that going on. Patrick
  18. I would buy a M715 before I would buy a MJ. Lets see how that build would go... rockwells, 52 XML's, dual cases, if not 3 cases  Full cage, and a few other goodies :brows: Wheeling a MJ is cool, but wheeling a M715 is cooler :chillin:
  19. I'm-a-still lookin' for ya down here, Eagle. There just hasn't been a single @$(%# longbed in the 'yard lately! Jeff I guess qhen I say I justy hrew 2 sets away cause no one would get them out of my way you all are going to be mad  I did throw 2 sets awy about 3 months ago though
  20. The best way to do a SOA, is to buy new spring perches. as for the spring plates, go and pull the d44 ones. they will fit better then the d35 ones. as for shocks you will need some new ones as well. Trailer shackle mounts are just the right size and are cheap, unless you have some 2x2 tubing laying around. If you were local I would say bring your rig and ALL the needed parts and plan on spending 4 hrs doing it. I am so good, I think I can almost do it in 2 though
  21. The radias arm setup flexes more so it can lean :brows: It really didn't bother me, until one of my friends asked what was wrong with my rig when I took a slow curve at speed :D As for what rims they were... I am not sure. It was on a project MJ that I quickly sold the rims and tires off of, cause I didn't like 10" rims, or the noise the x-terrians made
  22. You don't need no stinking radio :brows: That will only drowned out that noise you should be checking out
  23. Pretty much most of the same lift and back spacing rules for the Xj's apply to the Mj's. I think stock is 5" or a lil more. Most ppl will agree that with 3.5, or 3.75 you can run a 8" rim, with a 12.5 tire, with only slight rub at full turn and stuff. BTW rusty MJ's make great truggy's, and rust free ones make better ones in my opinion
  24. When I go wheeling... Its bad enough that I have to worry about where the bystanders are when I hammer down  and it would suck if I hurt or killed one of my pups  Most of the places I wheel don't allow dogs on the trails anyways. I will relate a story that happened at Crozet last OCT. Guy brought a dog, dog was wondering around on an obstacle, driver getting on it... some one yelled stop, cause of the dog, driver stops, and is in a bad way, and does a slow speed flop. Long story short.. no more pets at this private place. BTW dog was fine :D
  25. I love the doggie harness :D I don't bring my doggs with me cause they have slightly aggressive behaviors towards othe dogs  Plus In my opinion the trail is no place for a dog
