While true, I've indeed wondered the same thing. Unfortunately my MJ was stolen from my work parking lot, not my home....where its (was) kept in my garage.
Another detail I omitted was that my normal work week has me at one hospital (Good Sam) on Mon, Wens, and Fri, and at another hospital ( Estrella) on Tues and Thurs. So if an individual were to have noted my schedule then he would not have looked for me at Estrella on Wens as I called to that unexpectedly to that site on Wens morning, as I should have been at Good Sam.
I belive it was crime of opprotunity due to the nature of the low-income poeple that are often being treated or visiting at Estrella.
Yesterday morning my 92 Eliminator was stolen from the parking lot at my work (92nd Ave and Thomas, Phoenix AZ). I'm hoping like hell to get it recovered so I'm hitting every board I'm a member of to get as many eyes as possible. Pics are on page 6 "introduce your comanche", its the black on black one about half way down.
I'm soooooo bummed...that MJ was in perfect condition...
You guys do know that a Toyota Tacoma, 2wd, has a 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern right?
And you also know that the Taco 8.25" rear axle is 60.5 inches wide, right?
Does anybody see where I'm going with this?
The only downfall of the Taco axle is that the internals, while similar, are not interchangable with the regular Toy 8" axle. There for gear, locker and axle shaft selection is limited right now, but its popularity is growing.
Look in the tech section, introduce your MJ sticky, its the last one.
Actually I'm going to be selling mine soon, asking price will be in the $6000 price range though due to the condition of the truck.
Cool! Thanks for all the info.
I'm trying to find out the exact build date and I sent an email DC to ask for the build sheet. They were unable to find that, but they did go on to say that it appears to be an end of production number.
Can anybody here read a VIN? I have a 92 eliminator and I know only 900 MJ's were made in 92, so I'd like to find out if mines an early, or a late year (end of the line so to speak) model.
here's the VIN
1J7-FJ66S1NL-142735 S.O NO. MJJ-JT22501
I have a 92, short bed Eliminator, 4x4, skids, black, with all original paperwork...even the window sticker.
Best part is...no dents, no rust, no rips, no tears, no stains, and no leaks!
Have any of you V8 GC owners ever tried to pull the cap off the distributor? Or the spark plugs?
OMFG....PITA is what you'll say just looking at it....
Back to topic though...
If I were in your shoes I'd seriously look at a 4.0 Grand, same styling, less bling, more reliablity, and MUCH cheaper/easier to buy and maintain. Plus you can get the MJ too.....BONUS!
