  1. I've explained it to ya, I doubt a 5th time will make you believe me.
  2.
  3. 1988 XJ Laredo, 4.0/Pukey/231/D30/35. Guy wanted $1800, but took $1200 since he got his turbines back. The thing was an oil dumping POS. But I freaking loved that thing. I really regret having to scrap it (pre-CC)
  4. Never owned a vehicle that wasn't a Jeep.
  5. One away? Why'd you stop? I was 16 when I got mine, my brother and I shared a ceremony.
  6. Both of mine came with OEM Comanche mats.
  7. First step to diagnose where a ticking may be is pretty simple. Start it up and let it idle. Take the oil fill cap out and watch one of the rockers. If the ticking is the same speed as the rocker's movement, it's a valvetrain noise. If it's twice as fast, it's somewhere down below. If it's neither, it's probably not internal to the motor and could easily be something that's spinning outside the motor (i.e. fan) hitting something.
  8. Hence why he said if he got a 92 or newer. Actually he said '92 or older. I'm not arguing, technically we're both right So he did. I wasn't arguing either, just pointing it out to ya in case you missed it.
  9. Hence why he said if he got a 92 or newer. Shift rods? It's 2wd. The only thing that hooks to the trans is the speedo cable and reverse light switch. Shifter sits in the top of the trans. I'm assuming you have a Pukey now? As Pete said, the 4wd ones are the same length, I'm also not sure about the 2wd ones. You will, however, need an AX-15 crossmember.
  10. Well, you'll still need the dash harness, apparently the engine bay harnesses are different between manual and automatic, although I don't see why an auto harness wouldn't work with a stick. Manual ECU might not be a bad idea. You'll need an HO flywheel. Luckily with a 91 HO, you won't have pilot bearing problems.
  11. You have an AW-4.
  12. The 904 was used in 84-86 behind the 2.5 and 2.8. What motor do you have?
  13. If I owned anything with the 10 in brakes I might hit up the drums. You Renix guys should clean out those CPSs.
  14. Most likely a broken leaf. Probably not the main, though, as that would be rather noticeable. Take the pack apart and see what you got.
  15. There's no difference between auto and manual throttle bodies. The auto TPSs have an extra plug for the TCU. SW2, you really need everything little bit from the donor. Looks like you have the manifolds with the throttle body already, so that shouldn't be an issue. You're going to need that dash harness and HO fuel sender, along with all the other little tidbits from the engine bay. Maybe go grab one of those XJs that Mythbusters just totaled?
  16. Toe alignments are easy to do yourself. http://www.4x4xplor.com/alignment.html
  17. Hopefully it's attached to the dash harness... cause I don't see that either.
  18. If the mileage reflects overall condition, then it's WAY more than worth it.
  19. OP hasn't even logged in since he posted this.
  20. ECU is in the picture... where's the TCU?
  21. Using washers as a T-case drop can work, but I would drive carefully with it that way. You're greatly reducing the surface are that the crossmember has to push against the frame. Not saying you have to granny it, just don't pound on it.
  22. If you're wanting to do this for a 4wd conversion, and the TJ trans is simply just sitting there, there are still about 1,287 better options for you. If it's just to go to an auto, I highly recommend going with an AW-4 as stated. Am I correct in assuming this TJ trans does not have an overdrive?
  23. AALs on SUA vehicles doesn't move the axle closer to the vehicle. AALs on SOA vehicles go between the axle and main leaf, therefore it moves the axle. On SUA, the AAL goes under the main leaf and axle. Axle remains snug against the main, so it's not moved.
  24. AALs aren't the same as blocks. They arch the spring more, which lifts the truck up. SOA vehicles also gain the tiny amount from the leaf's thickness, but that's not a factor with SUA vehicles. The distance between the axle and main leaf remains the same.
  25. Yeah, the 160 is each. You can get a discount for being a CC member as well. Full packs are always better than AALs.
