  1. Hey everybody. I am having a lot of trouble getting any pedal with my brakes. i just got my 4x4 swap done on a 91 long bed. i swapped the 2wd axle out with the hp dana 30 and bought new calipers and everything for it and bled my brakes like crazy to still have no pedal and terrible stopping power. The truck has a ford 8.8 disc brake rear and and i wound up buying new calipers for it, along with a new master cylinder, and a porportioning valve from a grand cherokee for disc brakes. i recently eliminated the rear load sensing valve because i have heard hardly any good news about them and i have air bags on the back of the truck so the truck does not squat like it should anyways. i have bled and bled the system over and over again trying to get brakes with no luck. any thoughts?
  2. yeah hopefully it is just something like that i just bought the daystar polyuerthane shackle and leaf spring bushings
  3. i took the pack apart and i can't see anything visably wrong. I'm thinking that maybe somebody that had the truck before me might have gotten it hot with a torch or something...luckily i have a 2nd leaf pack that i can swap in there that are in better shape
  4. i have a 91 comanche long bed and i have noticed that the passenger side rear end is leaning significantly lower than the rest of the truck. i just recently did a rough country 6.5 inch lift on the front of the truck and right now i have the rear end all apart and was going to do a SOA lift on the rear and possibly add a leaf, but I'm a little concerned with the passenger side sagging in the rear. would it just be the main leaf that would cause it to lean? or could it be another leaf? i have 2 pairs of leaf springs from another truck i had, and out of the 2 pairs i was going to put together a setup that would hopefully be a little stiffer, give me about an inch of lift and take care of the lean. any thoughts as to what may be causing it to lean?
  5. 91 long bed 5 speed straight 6, getting 4x4 swapped with axle over rear lift and some sort of front lift 88 short bed 5 speed straight 6 2wd
  6. I'm in cincinnati Ohio, and yeah the junker does have a slider window
  7. haha well i tried to jump the ballast resistor and now the feul pump makes a loud clank noise but still isnt fully priming it seems like it primes a little because it gives the motor enough fuel to kind of start up and sputter a little but still not fully primed and not constant fuel.. but today found and pick up yet ANOTHER manche. found a 89 straight 6 long bed 5 speed 4 wheel drive for 400 bucks frame is shot on this manche the rear leaf spring hangers rusted completely out and when the guy i bought it from was driving it one day the spring mounts broke completely away from the frame and cause the rear axle to shift back and popped the driveshaft out of the transfer case truck only has 170,000 miles on it and runs great so i was thinking of putting the 4 wheel drive parts on my 91 long bed and keeping the motor from the 89 as a spare and using a couple other miscellaneous body parts from the 89 and then junking the rest of it hopefully now i have enough parts to make a real nice 4 wheel drive long bed and a really nice 4 wheel drive short bed ill post pictures later on and you guys tell me what you think
  8. hey everybody I'm new to this board but i got a situation i have 2 manches one is a 91 h.o. straight 6 long bed 2 wheel drive 5 speed the other is an 88 straight 6 short bed 2 wheel drive 5 speed both have some problems the 91 has 300,000 miles on it and someone who did the last timing chain replacement did the gasket wrong on the timing chain cover so now it leaks oil considerably fast. the 88 has 140,000 miles on it and is either got some wiring issues or needs a fuel pump I'm not sure. i can't hear the fuel pump prime when i turn the key to on and it will just crank and crank, but if you dump some fuel into the intake and try to start it it starts right up so i know it has some fuel pump issues i want to know which one i should spend my time on because i have most of the parts to make on of the trucks four wheel drive. opinions? 91 long bed or 88 short bed? :???:
