What auto did the YJ and TJ use? :hmm:

I packed a 13 year old, a 10 year old, and a 1 year old in a carseat for the 9 hour drive up and 9 hours drive down from Wisconsin, and the two older ones didn't complain.

First place to check with a no spark issue is the CPS itself. Unplug the connector, then plug it back in. If that doesn't work, unplug it again, and use a multimeter to check the ohms of the CPS. Should be between 125 and 275.

If the motor won't spin, how would you know you have no spark? Computer doesn't even fire the coil until the CPS reads 300 RPM.

You can use this to calculate how much lift you'll get by flipping the axle.

I'm all for putting a rebuilt motor into the MJ... if the state wants to pay for it. If they throw a fit, I'll say it was put in in WI before the truck came down here..

Giving you free parts is making up for bad customer service, it's not good customer service.

I am really starting to hate this state.

I need a running motor for the MJ. I'm still planning on building the original motor, but I need something to get this thing driving ASAP. Interested in just a motor, but would definitely pick up an entire wrecked XJ if you have one and/or know where one's at. CL is empty. Don't have a lot of cash, but I have a decent parts stash.. Would prefer not to travel too far as all I have to pick it up with is my DD XJ.

I may be wrong, but I don't think they made 2wd WJs.

Don't they make U-joints that have two caps for the Jeep driveshaft, and the other two for a Ford axle?

First thing would be to check your TPS. You can also unplug your TCU and see if it shifts manually just fine.

Idle Air Controller, it's a valve in the throttle body next to the TPS that lets air in when you're not touching the gas pedal.

Oregon plates... From looking at it, some would wonder if it could make it to Utah under its own power? Only thing I see out of the ordinary is that the bed's a different color. Whoop dee doo. Doesn't make me thing the motor's gonna throw a rod. Even if it isn't a Metric Ton, still well worth $500.

Sounds similar to when my fuel pump was going out in my 2.5. First thing I would do is check fuel pressure.

It's also extremely helpful to post a picture of what you have, so we don't have to guess as to what you're talking about, and then you tell us when we figured it out.

If it's from a 95 XJ, it will be an external slave. The input shafts will swap between the cases.

89 AW-4 should be 21 spline. Even if it's not for some reason, your NP231 23 spline input would swap into the 242.

This is just a supplament of something your body already makes, not a knock-out drug. It does not prevent you from waking up in the morning... i get that. I still don't want to have to pay for anything that helps. i'd like to get somethin goin that takes the problem entirely away. It's frikin $12 for an 8 month supply. But whatever :shake:
