  1. It can't run without a head or intake on it...
  2. There's usually a tag on the diff cover that will tell you. All options(I believe, correct me if I'm wrong), are 3.07 3.55 3.73 4.10 4.56
  3. Yeah I know what's that like. When I was 10 we had to put down my cat, who was older than me. A few months after that we got another one, now she's almost 11, and it's gonna suck when she goes. Really sucks loosing a pet.

Any diesel can run on used cooking oil. Mythbusters poured in straight into a mercedes diesel with no conversion whatsoever and it ran perfectly. All that conversion does it add an on-board filtration system so you're not clogging up your injectors with bits of french fries...
  5. The only way mine will ever get sold is if they explode and get parted out :D I'd sell my house first.
  6. The transfercase does not bolt to the body other than the linkages. And yes, putting all three in at the same time IMO is the easiest.
  7. The hole for the handle is there, however the holes for the linkage bracket will need to be drilled out. There are dimples.
  8. Ok, so I did the stupid thing and bought a cheap one on ebay. Recently I accidently dropped my laptop with both USB ports having devices in them, and it broke everything all to hell inside when it fell, so I'm out both USB ports. I bought a 4 port PCMCIA card off of ebay. It FINALLY came and it doesn't work. I plug it in, it recognizes it, adds a bunch more USB buses to the Device manager, but nothing I plug in will work. There's no brand name on the card, but there's a model number : QFASCB Every search I did with that came up with eithr IEEE 1394 or 2 port USB cards, no 4 port ones. Computer is a Dell Inspiron 1150 with XP Pro SP1.
  9. I've used Fram for years and no problems at all...red truck has a CarQuest filter, since I was there and figured what the hell. No problems from that one either. Then again I've been using Autolite platinums with no problems either...
  10. After I did all 4 ball joints and both bearings on the red truck, I still had bad death wobble. Turned out the bolts on the trackbar bracket were loosening. Tightened them up and DW is completely gone. It can definitly cause it.
  11. I saw a ZJ in Madison once that was green, red window tint, 19in spinners, a spoiler above the hatch, and alteza tailights. It was ugly as hell.
  12. UGH.
  13. Axle should be 4.10.
  14. I haven't even seen my grass for at least 4 months.
  15. This has been annoying me for awhile now. What the hell is the difference between a short block and a long block? I've heard of the 4.0 refered to as both, and when I search either term I get a bunch of V8s, as well as I6s. So, to me anyway, it seems like all motors have been called all of those terms. Do V6s have anything like that?
  16. I ran Autolite Platinums in both my 4.0 XJs and never had a problem with them.
  17. Not all the axles in the pic were offered. I believe the only ones available stock were the AMC 20 (86 only) D35, and D44. Going to lower gears (3.55, 3.73, or 4.10) Will make your truck quicker and affect your mileage, but it will also throw off your speedometer, so you'd have to get the correct speedo gear. I don't know how much it would be to ship an axle but you can HAVE my 88 XJ D35(3.07 ratio, probably what you have) for shipping. You'd need to weld new perches on it though. Maybe you should also check to see what exactly broke. Might be cheaper to just replace that part instead of the whole axle. I'll also soonishly have an MJ D35 (3.07) up for grabs as soon as I get my 8.25 in the blue truck.
  18. I have a 91 with the 2.5.... close enough?
  19. If the donor is a Dana 35, $125 is too much. I have two XJ D35s that I can't even give away. Also, MAKE SURE THE GEARING IS THE SAME.
  20. My 88 XJ had the temp sender on the head near the firewall.
  21. Hey my 4cyls radiator kinda looks like that... And has never once overheated on me :D
  22. Oh, and you'll need to use the clutch line from the donor too.
  23. Just to be sure I would swap the clutch disc and PP from the donor if they're in decent condition. I'm sure the clutch itself is the same, but the PP may be different. You could call up your local dealership to compare part numbers.
