i sold a full size chevy and 4runner cuz of that... now i still got the girl and have an MJ that she loves to go wheelin in, but still hates it cuz i like to work on it... Just remind her that if you don't work on it...you can't go wheelin'. If she loves wheelin', then she should understand :D

My 2.5 4wd gets much, much, much better mileage than my HO 4.0 2wd.

6 of the 7 XJs my family's had came with electric fans. Then again...they were all 4.0s with A/C... 87,88,89,91,92,98 Also, I've never seen a temp sensor in the radiator. Renix ones (I believe) were on the bottom drivers side of the block, and the chrystler ones have it in the Thermo housing. The gauge one is on the back of the head.

I think what we're trying to say is it will give you slightly, slightly better, but it's not worth it, just in case you need it on the way. If you do remove it for the trip...make sure you still bring it with, with the hardware and tools to install it in case you end up needing it.

The front driveshaft will be spinning. It only doesn't on disco axles. All a locker does is make so the two wheels have to spin at the same speed. The driveshaft still has to move either way.

I doubt it's the chain. If it had broke I'm sure I'd head something clinking around inside the timing cover. Also, if it did break, it's definitly and non-intereference motor cause I'm not hearing any valves bending. I do not have a fuel pressure tester, otherwise I would've checked that already. Gonna have to get ahold of one. I'm not sure on the mileage, but I know he did get a new motor within the last several years.

One of my neighbors has a 2000(I believe) Saturn Station wagon. 4cyl Auto. It suddenly decided it won't start. It turns over, I'm 99% sure it's getting spark, and it does get a little bit of fuel. Got a few puffs of exhaust. You can hear the fuel pump prime, and I checked the fuel pump and ignition fuses, they're fine. I'm thinking the fuel pump is dead or dying, and not getting enough pressure to run. Any ideas?

I've never seen a full cluster that didn't have that light.

That was I was thinking... If it is the EGR, yet they have one, it's in between the manifolds. EDIT : My 88 Xj had one. I haven't had a 91+ apart yet.

Get an AMC switch and swap it in.

The a904 was not used behind the 4.0.

If it's stock and a 5 speed, then it's a Peugot BA 10/5, if auto it's an Aisin AW-4.

You should probably aslo specify motor, transmission, 4 wheel drive or not, and if there's been anything done to it. Mileage would be good too, althought if it's a 4.0, thats pretty inconsequential.

Tranny cooler lines, TCU which should be under the dash. Flexplate Just get a floor shift kit out of an XJ :D
