  1. I do like the bobbed look . Where did you get the front bumper?
  2. Welcome - I would love to see more pictures of the flat bed
  3. This is so cool. You have to post pictures of your adventures in this
  4. I haven’t seen another new Comanche in over several years. I’ve seen two in the last 3 weeks . Took a picture of the one at Just Jeeps -> I hope to get a picture of the other one if I get the chance to. Supposedly there have been a lot of customers asking about mine and if I would sell it .
  5. Welcome to the Comanche Club. Excellent! Great price you got it for. Do you have plans for it?
  6. More emblems I picked up at the Pasco EZ pull it -> I had hoped the blue interior was the right color, but it was the Smurf blue color . I saw some cool valve stem covers on a Jeep and for under $5 I ordered a set of five. They will probably be stolen, but that is just karma for “borrowing “ them off cars as kids ->
  7. Wire wheel and some paint
  8. Yes, seeing the girls playing in the jeep reminds me of my son swinging from the roll bar in the CJ. Great memory. Congratulations
  9. I’ve got the winch off the Cherokee and ready to go on the winch cradle. I already have a 2 gage jumper from my battery to the front of the Jeep to use with the quick connect plug on my jumper cables. Now I needed a cable with the quick connect plug to come off of the winch, so I can quickly take the winch off and on. This got me thinking I should do something for the rear - it would be really nice to be able to hook the winch cradle on the back bumper . Found this jumper cable kit on Amazon. It has the 5 foot jumper lead with connector on the end and another 25 foot cable with quick connection on one end and battery clamps on the other. It’s all 2 gauge as well. My plan is to run the 25’ cable to the back of the truck so the winch will be able to hook up to power. I will have to cut off the clamps to length and then clamp some lugs to mount up on the battery. I did a quick measurement on the distance from the back to the battery in front. I had it measured to about 20’. The kit that comes with 5’ jumper, 25’ jumper cables, gloves, wire brush and case ->

  15. Nice shiny new looking axle
  16. I’ve been thinking that I might go back to having the CB mounted in the center console -> I am not positive that I am going to, but I decided to take the cut out cubbie from the console. Didn’t care about this one because it has the two holes for the round locker switches cut into it -> I didn’t even realize that it was possible to remove this piece until recently. I ground out the melted plastic welding spots holding it in on with 4 tabs -> Now I have the option to use it or just find another place for the CB. Took out the emergency brake block off piece while I was at it. TBC -Rich

  18. Welcome to the cub. I’ve said this before, a lot of knowledgeable people here always willing to help. What a nice looking Jeep. Yes! More pictures
  19. Glad you are sharing this build up with us. It looks nice from the pictures.
  20. Hey CheapComanche. Not that it makes a difference (axles have pretty much the same set-up process) what axle are you working on? Having a loose pinion is obviously not good. A few things could’ve happened to cause this but the “why” is not important now. The only problem with just tightening the nut back down is the pinion is set to a certain preload. This is achieved with the use of a crush sleeve in the set up process. You are just going to get it close as best you can. Here is what I suggest doing, but start budgeting for a bearing overhaul at the minimum. Take off the pinion nut and clean the treads with brake clean. Put red locktite inside of the nut and run it down until the play is out of it. Then bump the nut and keep an eye on it. Not really much you can do at this point. If you are close to The Tampa Bay area I could help you rebuild the axle. Hope that helps.
