I am no fan of the new wranglers, but this I may actually like -> A 4 door converted to a two door with bed. It’s the closest thing to a scrambler that I’ve seen.

1984 Scrambler Rebuild
Drahcir495 replied to Drahcir495's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
I’m just going to keep the stock axle shafts for now. I am moving to north Florida at the end of July, so I need to get the axle done before I no longer have the tools to rebuild it. I have a powertrax locker that I am putting in it. -
1984 Scrambler Rebuild
Drahcir495 replied to Drahcir495's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
Started removing the front axle out of the Scrambler. I have a lunch box locker and 3.73 gears going in. The rear is already geared with 3.73’s so I’m just going to stick with that ratio. The gear should be in a week or so. I will have everything ready to go in and set up when it arrives. I borrowed some massive Jack stands and got it up to where the tires could be removed -> Found some unexpected issues while working on removing the axle. Bushings on the shocks and disconnects were disintegrating or completely missing -> It is going to be a little awkward getting the axle out, so I may get some help doing that. I have a trailer I can borrow to get the axle to the shop, but I needed a hitch on the Explorer to hook it up. I wouldn’t have to get one but the Cherokee is sitting next to the Comanche at the Jeep shop not running . Friday after work I put it on the lift and within an hour I had it installed -> -
Welcome to the CC. I do like the color and theme of your truck. Start a build-up page so we can follow your progress

You know you have a supportive wife when she makes a card with a Comanche on it Don’t know how she did this

I knew the blue would look great

Thanks Bo. I’m doing what I can until I get it home. Which could be . . .

I needed to change out the drivers side seat belt. The one that was in the truck rusted somehow while it was parked. Picked a very clean one a few weeks back and have it ready to go back in when I get the truck home ->

WOW! I’d be happy with just one of those Broncos - and from the looks of it, one of the Z cars .

Inner shifter boot source
Drahcir495 replied to Drahcir495's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thank you all -
I am looking for the inner shifter boot for my AX15 - this Does anyone have a part number for this or where to look for one? Nothing online looks like what I need? My next question will be following up on how to get in on?

I about soiled myself when I was working under a TJ on the lift. I heard a loud bang and then the Jeep moved a little. I gave the other guy a look of what the hell was that? We lowered the lift back down to figure out what was going on. The pin that holds the pulley for the chain to ride on backed out 😳 -> It could have been worse than a change of boxers . . .

I escaped to the garage, avoiding the wife’s household chore list, to finish up one of the tail lights. I am hoping that she thinks I’m organizing her gardening tools instead of getting a little MJ time in. It could end up being a poorly executed plan . It came out pretty good. Of course, the on the right is the polished one -> Not really a challenging process. The tough part was trying to get the dried polish out of the nooks and crannies.

That really looks great. Well done, we’ll done
-
Testing out trying to buff out the tail lights with the Novus polishing kit. Just before buffing out the middle portion of the tail light -> Coming along-> Pretty good for a 33+ old plastic.

New Rock Slider Option Coming Soon

Obviously you will need to post pictures of them when you get them! Please -
Take care of yourself and we look forward to you getting back into the swing of things

I got around to putting in the Euramtec B-pillar lights while my son was playing with the neighbor’s kid. Not a lot of opportunities to get to work on the MJ before 10pm, so I jumped at the opportunity. It took me maybe 10 minutes to get them installed. The hight was correct, but the length had to be addressed. Took a little off each side with the dremell tool and they snapped right in -> Now I will use the information that I found on the forum to hook the lights up to the factory connectors -> Baby steps 😁

April 2024 - Eureka's Pioneer Metric Ton

Killer side striping. Looks great - congratulations on MJOTM! -
Now there are 3 Comanches at the Jeep shop! The last time I’ve seen this many MJs in one place was at jeeptoberfest a few years ago. Now there are two LB and the one SB -> I just need to get a Comanche Club business card in this one.

It arrived! My bored out throttle body from Jeff Leigh. The one that came off the motor (1998 HO) was really junked up -> The TB is nice and clean. It’s pretty obvious compared to how I sent it out -> The only thing that can’t be evaluated is how it affects performance? The truck has been parked around 5 years, so I don’t remember how it ran with the old TB. TBC - Rich

Gogmorgo is always a great source of knowledge for all things mechanical. Just follow what he explains above
