Definitely too late. I have an 98 XJ motor already in it. I used the Renix flywheel and fuel rail. Then one did of accessories is HO and the other is Renix. I also have an adapter to control the carb using the Renix TPS. The donor XJ is there, so it’s all coming out of it.

Thank you. I knew they strobed but I thought they also acted as fog and off-road lights. I should power it up and test them

Thank you Gojilra94. Damn I hope he knows this stuff. Again, I will make up a list of questions for him in the morning. I will get with him next week about the list. Will keep you all posted on this journey. I do wish I had asked earlier. Hopefully it all works out in the end

The edges of my taillights are cracking off. They must have been tossed around when they were being unloaded . For those of you who purchased these, what is your opinion on them? They now want so much money at the junk yards that it justifies the cost

Nothing really new on the MJ front. Looks like we’ll be putting in the OBDII system out of, I think I heard correctly, an 96 XJ. Have a topic in the MJ Tech forum about it. I did pick up my new Jeep parts hauler lol -> My wife hasn’t seen it yet - 4 hours away from home

I will keep you updated as much, as my son says “smooth brain” can grasp. I will make a list and discuss with him these questions. Tone ring? Is that the teeth on my manuals fly wheel? The wiring harness that came out of the xj is also being used. will my gauge cluster work with the system?

Great . I expect him to get that all figured out. I just want it done at this point. I think it was dropped off last April.

The decision has been made for me. It is the OBDII out of a 96 XJ going into the truck. The harness and computer have already been purchased and the Renix harness removed. I had agreed to the swap before having second thoughts. Understandably my fault. I’m feel a little better knowing it’s the OBDII though.

That’s what I was going to try first - bench test it. I have zero idea of the magic involved in getting the lights to switch modes.- just opened it up and it’s not going to operate with rocker switches

I have a question about this rocker switch -> I have some LED fog lights that can be switched from white to amber etc. can one of these switches be used to toggle between modes if I switch it quickly, or does it have to be a momentary switch?

Thanks for all the great advice! I'm staying with the Renix. I also already have Nick's REM so that's one more reason to keep it simple

If I get it all squared away and running, it's just a matter of maintenance at that point. I have to convince her that even new cars have parts that wear out. At least I don't need a degree in quantum physics to diagnose a problem. I know how to repair my jeeps.

Exactly why I’m down sizing. But the property is crying out need more jeeps
