The best part is driving on the beach. I had a blast out there with my old bronco a few years back ( before I got into jeeps )

DING DING DING right on the money with the tires(275 wide) and a think a 350 is just fine in that engine bay, Ls1s are pretty cool 8) Thought they looked familiar, I just bought a new set (same size and all) for my drag lites. Ive had good luck in the past w/ them, just don't expect too long out of them. Gotta love those t-5's too, 3rd gear is always 1st to check out. Keep us updated, most of us are car guys too.

After listening to the tape, I figured out who they were talking about this morning on the radio. Tell her how ya feel Buddy!!

Always good to have a "go fast" toy too. Looks like you didn't do bad...... Pro stars, drag radials, ( I'm guessing NT555's?) etc. I'm far from a chevy guy, but have a friend who's dropping a built LS1 in a 3rd gen, so I'm around them quite a bit.

Saw this add the other night. What a fu*%$#g idiot, price wise, grammar wise, insulting potential buyers wise, this guy sucks.

Also, let everyone u know that u are looking for a job ( family, friends, etc.) This method has helped me in the past.. Good luck...It always gets better

I had the same thing happen to me on a '90. Even had a newer plow on it, all for $400. I was upset i missed it by so little, but not surprised. Oh well....good luck hunting!

Payment sent, stripes being sent out soon. This was EXACTLY the motivation I needed to finish painting this truck! -
Eliminator Sticker Measurement?
GreenF350 replied to over2land's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
:D I never thought these would come to be!!!! Also, I just noticed Spencer is in CT, so I'm breaking out the credit card. Now the hard part is deciding if I want silver or grey tailgate letters. Oh, and since I'm a big fan of these trucks, Ill be ordering pioneer decals if they get made, just in case another truck follows me home. Also, I'm assuming by looking at the pics that charcoal/silver was the factory stripe combo, not black/silver. Just wanted to make sure I order the more "factory" of the 2 options. -
Which states/countries have you visited in your MJ?
GreenF350 replied to beepbeepmyredjeep's topic in The Pub
Connecticut Massachusettes New Hampshire (wheeling trip) Vermont (wheeling trip) Rhode Island Each time it left the state, there was always some "issue" along the way, but nothing major. -
Now that the weather is nice, the MJ has been sitting since Ive been working on another project. However, I did just get new 33 12.50 Mud terrains on soft 8's. The truck looks great with the new tires. Also, I picked up a comanche trailer hitch and started cleaning it up for installation. Pics soon.

( off topic ) So I'm guessing the Green 92 Eliminator is yours now?? We demand pics!!! Also, I don't care if it looks the same, pics are still required!

My daily driver is a 6.0 powerstroke, say what u will about them, but it gets up and goes. I also have a comanche w/ 3:55's, and all Ill say about this topic is that theres just no way my comanche would pull on my diesel. I mean no way. At all. Ever. Period. It seems  but good kill !!

This reminds me of an old Petersons 4wheel & Off Road issue I had from the early 90's. I was young but still remember being interested in an article where Jeep was promoting the MJ, and they had one painted as though it were see-through. I remember it being very detailed, and you could make out parts of the engine, interior, chassis, and everything else in the paint, as though the body was clear. I believe the truck was displayed at some auto show.......cool stuff. Anyways, that was my 1st time actually noticing an MJ, and apparently the image stuck. Now I have to see if I have the mag! ( i try not to throw too many out )

Time for another update. Ive been finishing up the body for the past few months, but it should be getting paint in a week or two. The bed ended up getting a few patch panels, but now its perfect. I coated the entire underside of the bed w/ POR-15, then undercoated most of it. Probably overkill, but this is my 2nd time "restoring" the truck, and hopefully the last. Also, I sprayed the front of the bed w/ the factory color, and to my surprise, its not really close to the factory color. I went off the original paint code, so I'm assuming there's some variations to the shade. I'm gonna figure that out next......its hard to tell in the pic, but its more greyish than before. At least in person I guess..... this is my 1st time painting however, and I'm really happy w/ the results.

Wow, this really beats the purpose of a " deposit " This same thing happened to a friend years ago on a used GMC Syclone. He put down a deposit, went back in the agreed amount of days and the truck was sold. He got his money back but I distinctly remember him saying that he had rights to pursue the issue further, but chose not to. He didnt want to have to come up w/ legal fees or something like that, and decided to just let it go. He did however, badmouth that dealer for as long as I can remember. Not sure if any of this will help you out, but your story sure triggered my memory. Damn CT car dealers!!! Also, Id be interested to know what dealer pulled this.....

I was working in RI yesterday, it was like nothing I've seen before. I heard they shut down 95 too, which was pretty flooded in the AM when I went through, but it must have gotten much worse. Great pics.

A must see .... TRIP PICS FINALLY UP! Pg 6 *****************
GreenF350 replied to Automan2164's topic in The Pub
I'm sure its been said before, but if so many of you guys are going, the rest of us will be expecting A LOT of pics. I know pictures are secondary when digging for buried treasure, but its all I got since I'm so far away. Sounds like you guys are gonna have a blast! Get some of all the comanches in attendance too. -
Got another mint tailgate while I was working! Tailights were smashed, not much good on the truck at all.

My friends who I would go wheelin with all had cherokees, and I had a fullsize bronco. I kept noticing that the XJ's would go anywhere, but it wasn't until I drove one that I got hooked. At that point I decided needed a jeep, and remember deciding that day that if i did buy a jeep, I'd look for a comanche. Months went by and I wasn't really looking that hard, just from time to time. Well one day while I was working, I had to pick up a load of cars that were being sent to auction. Out of that load of cars, I was told 2 were cherokees as well as some other junk I can't remember. I literally loaded all the other cars, went to grab the second " Cherokee", and realized it was a comanche w/ a cap on it!! I peeked inside, saw 90k on the clock, and knew what I had to do. At that point I took it for a quick spin up the street, came back and asked the dealer how much he hoped it would pull in at auction. He told me he was hoping for around $600 :D I told him I refused to take it to auction........I was taking it home!! I gave him $100 deposit and came back with my trailer the following day. The funny thing was, after realizing I would now have and empty spot on the truck, he gave me another Cherokee ( this one was actually a cherokee ) to take its place. Now I like to think that I saved this one from the crusher. Alot of the cheaper cars at that auction would be bought by local junk yards and parted/scrapped. So in a way, this one found me!

Went to a local junkyard and got my 3rd spare tailgate and a comanche specific hitch. Yes, the taillights were already gone.

Try driving a truck (almost daily) through NYC. All five boroughs, bridges, highways etc. And since no one wants to get caught behind a truck, EVERYONE tries to cut you off in traffic. I'm not proud to admit this but one guy caught my coffee with his car after he cut me off and slammed on the breaks........yea, driving in the city sucks.
-
This looks identical to the one that I saw on the pirate4x4 classified board. Looks great!!!

My jeep has become more of a "light duty" rig. here's the Christmas tree extraction last year....... If it acts as your shelter for the night, does that mean its earning its keep?
-
hmmm........ an MJ earning its keep picture thread would be cool
