1. Unfortunatly I didnt make it out......went camping w/ some jeep buddys, go figure
2. I recently came across a 90 2wd Eliminator thats 98% rust free. The body is straight as an arrow, but the paint is pretty badly faded. It has starting issues ( sometimes will, most of the time won't ). Its not getting spark. Its got some miles, 200k.The owner is pretty much fed up with it, so what do you guys think something like this is worth?? I realize this is hard to guess without pics, but considering the body is mint, what do you think?
3. Ive had good experiences with them also. I ran mud terrains on my old truck for a loooong time w/ 0 problems. Also, I have x-terrains on my jeep and think they're great for trail/rock use, not so much mud though. Keep in mind though, I bought my set used, and 2 out of the 7 tires I scored had sizable chunks missing out of the sidewall. So I guess my experiance is the same as the others...
4. This is extra scary since I'm running the same leaf packs! I was thinking of upgrading the whole suspension in the future but wow........Ill be curious to see your progress
5. I may not consider my mustangs true muscle cars (most people say those died in the early 70's)but I do think the foxbody will be part of the newer generation of what's considered muscle. ( when we look back upon them). Look at the Grand national, turbo V6, so they definitely don't fit the traditional definition of a musclecar, but I personally feel that they sure were! Also, as much as I hate them, I believe the LS1 cars will also be looked back as muscle. The lines have been blurred between pony and musclecar so much and now were lucky to get anything v8, 2dr, RWD, 2+2 and cheap. Of course its all speculation, and I'm not ready to call them musclecars yet either........ As for the ricers, I don't care about the ones that drive around in the stupid looking cars. They give me (us) something to laugh at. The ones in the stock integras, civics, cavaliers etc. w/ rims and an exhaust that swear each red light is a goddamn christmas tree piss me off. First, its annoying. Second, no real street races occur in the afternoon on Main St!! If anything, they ruin the whole car cruising / late night action scene for the people who actually have cars worth racing!! (which I would never condone :brows: ) Anyways, here's a pic of my two mustangs. The green one goes 10's, and musclecar or not, its a fun street car. [/img]
6. Makes me wish I didnt ruin my paint wheelin, but Ill probly check it out too. Since NOTHING ever comes to CT, we'd all be stupid to miss out on this one. Thats at least 2 MJ's there..........
7. Now I know what color to look out for, otherwise Id be on here telling you there was a 3rd in our area!! Looks great, can't wait to see it all finished.
8. The diesel suburban would probly be great if your leaning tword an SUV.I really don't see too many out there, but I havent really paid any attention, either. I almost suggested a Ceturion in my earlier post but figured no one would know what I was talking about. Those came w/ diesels too, and although hard to find, a few cheap ones have popped up on Craigslist from time to time. Ive even seen the older bodystyle than that one (pre-92) with the earlier 7.3 in it, which I thought was really cool. The thing was like 4k and needed nothing!!! It all comes down to whats near by and is the right price when you have the $$$ to spend. I think anything suggested so far would work just fine. Just think, nomatter what you buy, its another truck and another excuse to start modding. here's a pic of my tow-rig turned toy w/ my comanche:[/img]
9. Wow, this makes me happy about the neighbors I have. Everything here is pretty well hidden or inside, but there would be plenty to complain about if they wanted to. The yard is kept up nice, but between me and my family, theres too many cars! The cars that are currently immobile are: 65 GTO, 41 Dodge powerwagon, 41 Dodge powerwagon, 53 Dodge dually, 37 chevy sedan, and a fully restored 38 chevy pickup that needs finishing touches. Cars that are driveable are: 05 Ram 2500, 04 Ram 1500, 05 Liberty, 04 F-350, 88 F-350, 91 Comanche, 91 Mustang LX, 91 Mustang GT, a car trailer and 3 tractors. The trick is to have a looong driveway so everything is hidden from the road. Also, it helps to have neighbors that race NMRO and have just as much stuff!!!
10. After a little un-planned wheeling last weekend, I noticed some nasty sacratches down the side of my MJ. I broke part of the grille too, but thats no big deal.Does anyone have any recommendations as to what products/techniques might help get some of these out? None of the scratches are deep, mostly scuffs, but its driving me crazy. Now before anyone says "who cares, its a wheeling truck", I know, and it is. Its just the damn thing has new paint and cleans up so nicely that I want to get back some of that old shine.Plus it spends more time on the road so I like it looking good.
11. Wow same thing happened to me when I ordered form them, only no instructions at all! It all went together fine, but it was pretty annoying to not get one piece of paper with the whole kit! When its time to upgrade I already have plans to go elsewhere.....
12. Is there any place to get info on these trails in NH? My family has a house in NH that I just got back from this weekend, and now I'm seriously thinking about bringing the jeep up next time I go. Ive driven down a few such trails before, but would like to know more about them...
13. Early 7.3 diesels were non-turbo. My recommendation is biased because I'm a ford fan, but I'd look at 94-97 Powerstroke 7.3 crew-cabs. You can find them in short or long beds, and IFS or solid axle. (ttb in F-250s and solid axle in 350's). These motors have proven track records, and those trucks were pretty well built.Even earlier years would work, but these years would have the least milage and would probly be easier to locate, while still having the older bodystyle: (less $$$). I had a 97 in the past and loved it. After that was a 03 Cummins Ram which I hated, and currently an 04 Powerstroke ( i know, I know Junky 6.0 but I absolutly love it ) Honestly though, the 97 was by far IMO the best one. Also, I believe 02 was the first year for dodge 1/2 ton 4 doors, 03 was the 1st year for 3/4 and one ton 4 doors.
14. Thats a popular body style, so I think parts shouldnt be too hard to come by. (maybe a little pricey though) The cab might take time to find though.Youve got guys street rodding them, guys doing full restorations, 4x4 fans buiding them etc. so support is out there. If money is an issue right now, look at it this way: The truck is already home. Its not costing a dime to sit,and we all have seen how you find amazing deals!! Plus it has history, so its worth waiting on. The hard part is over, you have a worthy progect, just start savin!
15. Looks like someone put an old powerwagon cab on a jeep chassis and added some imagination!?! I'm gonna look at the body lines on mine outside, cause to me that cab looks like a dodge.......
16. Nice truck. I want to say I saw the craigslist add on that one but it was too far. Nice to see it ended up in the right place, and the new tires look great!
17. Great pics!! Its to dark for me to take pictures now, but my jeep is outside pretty much covered in mud from a little trail I built through my woods. The trail swallowed an S-10, by my Comanche and a friends Cherokee had no problem. Funny how that happens!!! Ill post pics soon if I don't hose it off 1st. I know theres some new scratches under there :headpop:
18. Aside from someone who wheels or likes jeeps, I can't imagine who whould steal a comanche. Theres no huge parts value for it parted out (compared to new cars). I'd expect an Escalade to be stolen in Philly, never a comanche. That sucks, sorry to hear about that!
19. Wildman I love that picture!! Someday I hope to have a collection like that myself  CW, I was at chuck and eddies in southington, and the jeep was in the front part of the yard. Also, I have a friend in Meriden who recently told me about a blue lifted comanche in his neighborhood and right away I knew which one he meant. Ill def. hafta check that thing out sometime :D
20. I was at the JY yesterday helping a friend find some stuff, when all of a sudden he looks ahead and says, "that looks like a clean cherokee". Well naturally both of us decided to go in for a closer look, and wouldnt ya know, it was an 86 Comanche with 93k miles and 0, yes, thats 0, rust!! At this point i decided I had to have it. I prefer shortbeds, and don't need another project at the moment (although I'm lookng for a driver comanche) but anytime I see a comanche, I need it!! Well I didnt get it. I gave it some thought, and my friend was right, Ive got a few other things on hold right now and really shouldn't add another to the pile just yet.Which brings me to my point: Is anyone else on here a junk collector like myself?? When you see that vehicle and you don't need it but you end up getting it anyways for no real reason?? Lets see some pics of what youve got behind the garage waiting for you to bring back to life, or ones you simply forgot you parked back there years ago! These will eventually get some attention ( maybe Ill hit the lotto):[/img]
21. Truth be told, I rarely participate on most car web sites for the same reason. I usually only check them out for a little bit and don't need to go back for a month or so. Totally not the case w/ comancheclub, this site is highly addictive and makes me want to rescue more MJ's!!
22. I actually like all the extra info. It's exactly what makes this site different (better) than other related sites. It gives you a better idea of who your talking with, and since this will be a once a month thing, why not tell all you can when it becomes your turn? Looks good guys
23. My brother lives in LA and said he fell down while jumping rope on the roof of his gym :D Nothing was broken and no one hurt so I had to laugh
24. I thought I was going crazy when I didnt see it in the avatar pic!! I appreciate that, and ill get better pics, these were rushed so I could get them online.
25. Thanks, i finished it over the winter but just today figured out how to post a damn photo  Its actually a pioneer that I had painted and couldnt find the correct decals. So now its a sporTruck!
