Drahcir495
Just got the gear in for the Scrambler. Now I have the Motive 3.73 gears, the correct gear break carrier and the lunch box locker ready to go in. Pulling the bearings when I get the axle into the shop -> I will pull all the bearings when I go to set up the axle hopefully next week
Drahcir495
I moved 4 hours north to the Tallahassee area of Florida. I found a house on five acres and a big self standing garage -> This means the Comanche is close to 4:45 hours away with no work done on it yet. So, I’ve been keeping busy working on getting the garage set up and it’s coming along nicely. Bought some Home Depot shelves and already have them filled up with bins and MJ parts ready to go back in. I spent most of the last 2 days unpacking and setting up the work bench and peg board. Just started hanging up tools, so I have a lot of hooks just snapped in until I find homes for them -> Don’t know why, but it was never wired up for electricity . I am going to install the outlets and light switches and run the wires to them myself. I’ve been watching YouTube videos and have a good idea on my game plan. I am also going to put in an 220v outlet just to have if I decide on a plasma cutter/welder. I will need the power company out to get an idea where the fuse box will be before I start running the metal clad wire. Right now I have power via an extension cord coming from an outlet in the attached garage. TBC - Rich

I really appreciate that coheed. I didn’t want to just post it in the pub. I feel like it would be “feel sorry for me”. This will be here for me to look back on and remind me of how much I miss him. Drahcir495
I’ve been brainstorming a lot about where I can mount the CB in the Jeep. I don’t want to screw in the bracket to anywhere on the dash like the previous owner did. Took me a while to locate a good dark blue dash valance to replace it. Couldn’t live with alll the screw holes in it. So., I decided to go back to the way I had it set up before -> I don’t think I have any other options that I can live with. I didn’t know before this that the cubby hole was removable . I had already removed the cut one from the first center console, so I was able to see what exactly needed to be done to get this one off. Used the dremell and a special bit to grind out the plastic welds -> Got it free -> Got the cut one ready to go in -> Used some JB weld and clamps to hold it together while it dries -> All set to go back in the Comanche with the cut out for the CB -> I’m going to keep the untouched one in case I ever find another place for the CB. Then I can go back and reinstall it back to the original design. TBC - Rich
Drahcir495
The Scrambler made it to the new home. Only 232 mile ride on a flat bed truck - sitting in her new home -> Enough headroom to keep the soft top up getting into the garage
Drahcir495
Nothing really new on the MJ front. Looks like we’ll be putting in the OBDII system out of, I think I heard correctly, an 96 XJ. Have a topic in the MJ Tech forum about it. I did pick up my new Jeep parts hauler lol -> My wife hasn’t seen it yet - 4 hours away from home

Drahcir495
I plan on doing a lot with my son and the Comanche. I have wheeling and camping in the works for us. The topper may be our substitute tent if I can fit a blow up mattress between the wheel well humps? I will be measuring that up the next time I’m at the mechanics. I just found out that, with the new digital thermometer, I actually enjoy grilling out! I was hoping to get a small bbq grill to bring with us on the camp outs. I was at Jeeptoberfest a few years ago and saw a guy tailgating with a hitch mounted grill. I completely forgot about that until I was just going through my old pictures. Though it’s not the exact brand, I was able to track one down from Hitchfire - https://hitchfire.com/products/f-20 They had them on Amazon, but they were having a 20% off a drivers side swing out grill on their site. Now that I don’t have to answer to anyone, I pulled the trigger on it! Haven’t unboxed it yet, but it is the coolest non essential accessory I can attach to the MJ -> I also ordered their grill cover. It was $58 shipped to me , but I knew it would be a perfect fit. It wasn’t worth it to me to try to find one that might be a close fit, or impose on my tent buddy to make one. Got it unpacked It is well built, so I’m pretty happy 10/9/24 Hitchfire has a 5 lb propain tank with a cover for their growler tank -> It’s $100 on the web site but they sent me one for free! No heads up or reason, but it was a great surprise. I had to get the splitter line to get it to work, but it was cheaper on Amazon than theirs. Drahcir495
Got these bueats in last week -> I started to remove the old lenses from the housings. The first one I did did not go as well as the second one. I ended up breaking some small sections of the black plastic.-> The lenses didn’t fair to well either -> I will try and repair the damage with some JB weld in the morning. I’m not sure this will be noticeable with the lense on or not anyway? Other than that they came off quickly->

Drahcir495
I out grew my 26” craftsman tool box, so for Father’s Day I was given a card with money to get a new one. I ended up going with the 52” Home Depot Husky combo. Anything over $1000 you get free delivery. So glad I had it delivered to the old place. It is stupid heavy even though it was empty. I had to jack each end up to get the wheels on. Then I had two friends help to get the top box up and on. Still working on figuring out what drawers will hold each tools ->

Drahcir495
Headed down to the Jeep to do some work on it. I had some new LED headlights to put in. I went with the same ones I used in the XJ. I love them -> They are labeled DOT SAE on the lenses -> I already had the upgraded headlight harness in and it was ready for the new lights -> All done ->

Drahcir495
Lost one of my door locks. I can’t remember why I took them out in the first place? I ordered new lock cylinders from the dealership but they don’t come with the internals or keys. I went to a local locksmith and had them assembled -> I had two copies of the keys made since it was going to be a possible challenge to get them elsewhere. It took over two weeks just to get the correct internal ?wafers? In. Great thing is the door locks and glove box lock all use the same key. I had no problem getting them clipped in, but I couldn’t figure the internal lock rods out, so that is for the mechanic or for me at a later date ->
