Ok,

16 hours later I think I figured out how to do this.

Here's the deal.

If I remember correctly and nothing has changed much, i believe there's a couple people on this forum that know a little bit about MJ's.

I need help picking one out, as I find them closer to me, if anyone would be kind enough to help.

Most of you are better than me at looking at the attached pictures of the truck for sale, reading the description written by the current owner, and forming an opinion on if it's even worth it for me to go look at it to begin with.

I need all your professional opinions because frankly, I got old and forgot everything I learned here 20 years ago,

Good or bad.

Honest no matter what.

I suppose the next thing someone would ask me would be, what am I looking for?

Not picky but, a 1990 and up, 4.0, 4x4, auto, long/short bed would be awesome.

I'll look at whatever though.

Price or budget, I suppose would be the next question.

To which I'd reply, "Listen kid, I bought my last one for $500, advertised as being in "great" condition, back in 2004 I think.

Fell in love with the PITA at first site, so paid in cold hard cash, a decent amount at the time, and drove it halfway home as it started to catch on fire but, was mostly contained as I pulled in back home. (long story). Spent 10 grand on it as a couple years went by, and never even considered it really road worthy. At the time it was a fun hobby to come home to after work and take apart and put back together again. Over, and over, and over, and you get the picture. I wasn't ever a mechanic and never became one but, was fortunate enough to learn so much from everyone here at time and just enjoy it for what it was.

I've been looking here and there and honestly am truly amazed at what people are selling them for now. Obviously a fully built out/ or back to original stock condition, in great working order is worth every penny being asked my the owner in question. I think I've seen beautiful rigs anywhere from 10k-20k depending on each situation. Completly understandable.

What I find interesting though is the price people are asking for on truck in anything less than "awesome" condition.

Let's take the link I'll post below after I finish this. Read the whole description and check out the pictures. Both are decently done. Now, 20 years ago, I remember I would have paid maybe $1000-$1500 for this one advertised. It's not in horrible condition. He's asking $3500. I have to hit myself in the head and remind myself 20 years have passed but, can any of you tell me after looking at the ad that this specific truck is worth $3500?

I'm not saying it's not. I'm seriously asking if that's really what it's worth now, taking into account  the things that will need to be done first , before it even gets on the road.

Lemme know your thoughts please.

Thanks in advance!

So after a good 12 or so hours of looking around I figured $3500 isn't a bad price if it's not too bad.

Next step, get there this week and check it out in person.

I'm excited!

Based on the license plate number that was registered in PA somewhere around 2017-2018 as it's one series after the PA plate I have on my MJ.

That one appears to be crusty but has some nice options.  The price seems good considering the options, you are definitely correct it's 2026 and prices are up.

I think I'm doing something wrong. The link takes me to the "front page" of that group but I don't see anything for sale.

UPDATE!!!!!!!

Press the pause button on the search everyone!

Pete, call back the Bloodhounds and the Beagles.

I'm about to go into intense negotiations with a very knowledgeable, current MJ owner,

the details of which I can not publicly discuss due to a signed NDA.

Wahoo, hold my beer.

Remember,

If I'm not out in the next 15 minutes,

just leave and hang with the fam but,

come back later dude because I probably won't legally be allowed to drive,

and I gotta get home.

Wish me luck everyone!

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

(tHE INTRO to the opening story board of the ORIGINAL Star Wars, from 1977, plays defiantly in the background...)

MY NEW/OLD BABY HAS LANDED!!!!!

now!!

The most important thing first!!

WE NEED TO NAME HER!

Let's start coming up with ideas for Chico.

As a young man, back before the turn of the century, if Chico was ever to have a daughter, his dream was to name her,

Isabella.

20 years, and 3 daughters later,

none of them named ISABELLA,

(We've got-

Hayley Christmas

Mia Lynne

and

Macie Rae)

So, his dream of one of them securing that name in his fabled history and lineage fell short.

Therefore, Chico proposes, like he did to all SEVEN, of his ex-wives, the name,

ISABELLA!

Thoughts?

Ideas?

Suggestions?

Let's make a contest out of it.

If Chico doesn't go with the name,

ISABELLA!,

in the next 168 hours,

then the person that suggests this vehicle's new name first, that he chooses worthy,

will be awarded,

ONE FREE Comanche Club hoodie,

in the color and size of their choosing,

paid for by Chico and shipped directly to their front door,

or

garage of their choosing.

Let the games begin!

I'm of no help.  I referred to all my trucks by their color.   (which is complicated since I painted the red truck tan... and then bought another red truck)

EGGSELLENT SUGGESTIONS SLUGMAN!

(Seriously now, what works better for you?  Fiat? Slug? Lug? I'm having a hard time figuring out what to call you.)

Change of plans to the rules for this competition!

We will make a list of all names suggested during the 168 hours, back timing to when this contest was originally posted.

At the strike of midnight, on hour 169,

Pete will compile a list, long list, and everyone, (all 3 of us so far), will vote on our favorite to name...

Pete, figure out how to do this will ya?

I know you're bored and need extra to do.

So far we have

Isabella

REd Tan (that's just weird Pete, why can't you just try and act normal sometimes man)

PEarl (Thanks for keeping with the feminine motif!)

Stormtrooper (just forget this one..)

Casper (Not bad, can be construed as both masculine and feminine)

Sailable (Props to you for using the English language 87, nope that name for you isn't not working for me either)

The choice is yours,

but choose wisely my friends....

WAIT!!!

I just thought of something,

What if Chico decides to paint this truck a different color?

Half the names on the list so far wouldn't make sense.

People would start to think Chico has the same color blindness problem that Pete does!

Take that into account everyone.

Ok,

Carry on with your days now....
