Hey guys, I’ve always loved this style of steering wheel. Is this a good price to snag one? These did come stock in Comanches correct? Thanks!

Yes. They were with the Sport steering wheel package. You could also get the ones that are wrapped to the spokes.

What color interior do you have? You probably could find one that would match your interior.

My steering wheel is currently black so I think it could look nice. Tan would look nice too

Black would look good, especially with the black vinyl flooring and the black steering column. You could also look for CJ, YJ, full size Jeep, and AMC Eagle or other small body AMC cars, as they all had similar wheels. 
 

Here’s an example of an Eagle wheel with the spokes wrapped. Also has a really neat woodgrain horn button

you don't necessarily need a great condition wheel.  I wrapped mine with a wheel leather kit back in the late 90s.   heck, you could wrap the stock 2-spock for something truly unique.

Hell you can paint the center section of that wagon wheel to match your interior. AMC did that to early XJs and SJs with that steering wheel.

That’s the same wheel I had in my YJ. I picked up one as well from an MJ but the horn button didn’t have the little “rivets”. Was the rivet horn button exclusive to a particular trim?

Only when the XJ was introduced. The 84-90 XJ, 86-90 MJ and 87-90 YJ got the rivet buttons. CJ and SJ got the standard dome buttons that the HO years ended up getting.

Mine is an ‘86 XJ, I had the same steering wheel that you have!  I got this one out of a ‘92 XJ, no rivets.  I put on a $20 Amazon leather wrap.  Yes that’s a Camaro bow tie center emblem.  I had it in my toolbox for 25 years so I figured since I have a Camaro 3.4 engine, I’d be a smart aleck 😁 and use it.

This wheel will work you can buy it with or without the horn button.

Just be aware the above wheel is “deeper” than XJ/MJ wheels and will position it closer to the seat.
