Round 2

Recommended Posts

Starting this has been a few weeks coming, and as some of you may know, I purchased @Gjeep's 1989 Restoration truck. After a 12 hour drive to the bay area it was a warm welcome from Gianni and his family. He really is a stand up guy and put up with me asking questions and looking over his other projects and such for over 2 hours.

Now, this isn't my first truck, however my previous project has been sitting quite a while and leaving it on the east coast when I moved to Arizona didn't help. You can find the original build thread here. Long story short, it was getting an LS swap.

Now, the plan remains the same for this truck, sort of a resto-mod LS swap project. I've picked up a few small parts since picking up the truck, however I'm trying to figure out the logistics of getting my parts trove from the east coast to AZ.

After getting the truck home I started compiling a list of parts I knew I would still need

This list was almost topped off by seats. I got a good deal for some maroon bucket seats with brackets off of facebook.

The problem being they're maroon and I have a black interior waiting in storage for this truck. I have the Seat upholstery, however I don't have the folding lever trim and end cap in black. Now, if the pieces on the seats were complete and not missing, I would have attempted dying them black. That was not the case however, so I fired up Fusion 360 to make some suitable replacements. I may be open to selling these if there's enough interest but I'm not sure if I'd be able to color match.

Hell yeah! Bring out the CAD! Nice job

I have a bench seat myself, but I always love to see folks going the extra mile to make their projects a reality!

honestly, I didn't even think to check/ask if these parts were available somewhere, just decided to model them.
