Oracle LED tail lamp harness

Recommended Posts

Well with these new lamps on the horizon and seeing they require cutting up an already rare harness, how many would be interested in a harness that would be a direct plug n play with both the lamps and factory harness? I have some pieces left over from when I was going to make trailer harnesses in place of 88mjsally but someone else is making them faster. I can tell yall right now, colors won't match factory as I will be using what wiring I have(I will label what is what when I make and send as each harness will be uniquely different). I absolutely don't mind making a couple one offs here and there.

Oracle I am not trying to undermine you or your business at all, I am just providing and alternative to those who wish to not hack up their harness to adapt your LEDs to work on their MJ.

It sounds like they include a harness with their tail lamps?

Oh, I see--you're replacing the entire harness itself at the plug! Got it :L:

Yeah I’m creating one that will be straight plug and play for those who don’t want to cut up their lamp sockets.

7ft of wire. Good amount, course there probably is a few splices in there that will give me some wiggle room. I just realized, doing the license plate lamp plug with the center plug will be a challenge that might have to be one of those "you need to reuse this from your old herness" deal.

Aren't the license plate wires just a couple loose bullet connectors? The ones set up nicely for someone who knows enough to be dangerous to plug them together while trying to diagnose some other issue and immediate pop the fuse and not remember what they did and can't figure out why they can't keep taillight fuses in the thing?

Yes they are. Course I do like to give the benefit of the doubt to members on here with this type of connection.

Rather than two separate bullet connectors, perhaps use an SAE two wire connector.  Still serves the same purpose, but can't be "plugged into itself".  A mating end with the wires cut off could be a plug to protect it from the elements if not used.

I like this. Much cleaner.
You can probably get specific caps for it too if you really wanted to.

Damn! Good call. I don't know why I didn’t think about that.
