Smokeyyank Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 No clue if this is a rare find or not, but I would think so based on the year and configuration. Thoughts? https://fortcollins.craigslist.org/cto/7559370954.html
FrankTheDog Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 It would be very rare in my area. Hardly ever see 84-86 XJ’s. Probably a V6 being a Laredo. It might even have the rocking seats.
Pete M Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 any high-end Jeep from 30+ years ago in good condition is pretty dang rare.
schardein Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 That's a rare rig in mint condition. Not necessarily the best choice for a daily driver, but super cool nonetheless.
NHMJXJ Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Any unmolested 2 door XJ is a rare find these days. From what's pictured, that interior looks VERY clean too. If you look past the spray painted duct tape repair job on the door, there's a good restoration project there. I don't think $3800 is an unreasonable ask. They'll probably get it, or near that.
eaglescout526 Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 That XJ has some rarities too like the brushed dash bezel.
Smokeyyank Posted November 20, 2022 Author Posted November 20, 2022 Thanks for the info. I'm not looking to buy it. Just saw it pop up and was wondering from the expert point on how rare it was.
FrankTheDog Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 You’ll surely find more of them in the dry states than you will in the salt states.
Minuit Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 As the XJ improved mechanically, it went downhill stylistically. Basically at the same time, with a brief peak in 1987 and maybe 1988 when you could have the 4.0L engine and an 80s-tastic interior and exterior treatment at the same time. Minor exception given for the 90s woodgrain + leather interiors. * this is the opinion of an avowed 97+ hater. Your mileage may vary.
JZLAJeep Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 I like it. I've owned 3 XJs (including my original that I still have, a '95 2-door manual) and finally have a MJ. I've thus far steered clear of anything that is not 4.0, but low miles and good condition. I bought the '95 used before any of my kids were born. As my oldest sons got to be teenagers they said to me, "Dad, the Jeep is really cool. It's two door and manual. Do you know how rare that is?" Ha ha
