The hard part is you would probably sell 2 sets I mean at most 100. would make more sense for someone with a body kitless street comanche to get access to @ogjeepor @CactusComanche body kits and make a one off for themselfs

I don't know about that, I think the reproducer could sell a few hundred, at least. I'm sure plenty of people would want these body kits, myself included, for a future build.

nah in my opinion a street comanche body kit belongs on a street comanche. Maybe those front air dams might be different people might want them for scca style race trucks

Yeah I'd agree that there would be a market to people without a street Comanche.  Of course those with an incomplete kit would definitely want the repro parts but some may want to recreate a street MJ with a standard one.  I know there has been a few around doing this, including myself as I'm creating an Archer Racing style street MJ and I just assumed I would never see a real one.

Like I mentioned earlier the airdam would probably be the most wanted part for non-street MJs given it has practical use in fuel savings.  And looks wise the side skirts wouldn't look right without an airdam.

Regardless I still think there is only a market for a handful of kits since it's a pretty specific style for a Jeep truck.  Not too many people building street trucks compared to off-roaders.

I think the body kit belongs exclusively on Street Comanches to preserve the value and not dilute what they are. But i do think a new version will be showing up in the near future. Stay tuned...

agreed! the front air damn and the front 2 bits of body kit should be an exception for anyone with a race truck

Did it come with any of the bodykit parts? I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures!

A very small broken piece of a rear quarter and the rear bumper.  Unfortunately the rest of the kit was long gone.  More pictures and info to come.

Photo dump I got from the PO and that's how it was when we got there, had to drag it out through the woods with his truck but loading it on the trailer went really well since he had a portable winch.  Getting it off the trailer was easy as well but we had to change a flat and take a ceased brake drum off in order to push it around.  I got some looks from the neighbors because in two weeks I suddenly have the smashed up Suzuki and now the trashed MJ behind the shop.  I'll get more and better pictures of it soon.

As far as story goes, the PO had gotten it from a farmer and he believes that farmer had bought it new.  It was the farmers daily for years before it got parked in a field for 10 years.  It was obviously in an accident in the front driver's side as the bumper mounts, hood, and fender are crumpled up a bit but the frame looks to be good.  It was obvious that it was fixed somewhat after the accident because it has a good radiator and the front clip was fixed with fiberglass.  It unfortunately has a standard grille in it now, I'm guessing the original was destroyed in the accident.

The PO bought it a few years back with the intention of engine swapping it and using it as a tough truck but ended up doing something different so it sat there until now.  He also had quite a few other XJs, CJ, a burned to the ground YJ, and a full size Cherokee along with some other stuff.  He had no idea what a street Comanche is all he knew was there was 100 according to the dash plate and that it came from California.  He is going to try and get in touch with the family of the farmer since he passed about helping me get a title.

Got some time when I got home so I went out and snapped a couple pictures and got the VIN off it so it is now in the registry.

Passenger side is fairly clean, the driverside has a large dent in both the b-pillar and the bedside.

The tailgate is very bent, can't currently get it open.

Well I called the treasury office today and explained the scenario with the title and was instructed to apply for a bonded title.  Basically meaning I don't have adequate proof of ownership without a title so the truck's value will be declared by the treasury office and I will need to get a bond for 1.5 times the value in order for the treasury to title it so that it is covered in the event someone comes along with a title in their name and contests ownership in the next 3 years.  I've run the VIN through multiple sources and there is absolutely no public history of this truck, no accidents, no sales records, only like 5 open recalls.  This leads to further prove the story I've been told about this truck.

I've about finished with getting the paperwork filled out and all the necessary pictures and supporting material together and ran into a possible snag.  They require a picture of the federal safety standards sticker on the door and well I've only got evidence the sticker was there...

I haven't submitted anything yet but there is an option and explanation field for being unable to provide the required info so hopefully they look at it as it had a sticker at some point and is a legitimately sold truck just no longer has the sticker.  I mean being on the door I could have had a totally different Jeep door and sticker with non-matching VIN so I'm sure they've run into this scenario before.

I will be submitting everything within the next couple days.  Hopefully it won't take long to hear back, the process has multiple different steps so it's going to take at least a few weeks maybe more to go through the whole thing.

sooooo, they clearly have no experience with what happens to door stickers on 30 year old Jeeps.   any other impossible tasks they'd like you to accomplish?  maybe peace in the middle east?

Got a response from the DOT, currently they are working on stuff from the end of March yet but I am in line as of today.  Meaning typical government I've probably got a month or two before they start to process it.  Really that's fine though, gives me time to get the XJ done and out of the shop and hopefully get the Suzuki front diff replaced before it's 96's turn in the shop.
