watchamakalit
Officially took ownership of a 2000 WJ last night. Hoping to clean it up and make a backup/daily driver out of it. It belonged to a friends mother that passed away several yrs ago. It has been sitting in his drive for a couple years now, while I tried to talk him our of it. Sorry no pics yet. I am getting tools collected to go revive it when I get some daylight. Just hoping I don't make it too nice. The wifey is already talking about snatching it. Smokeyyank
Nice, 4 slow or 4.7? I have a love hate relationship with mine.
watchamakalit
4.7. Quadratrac II. Was looking for a driver. Got a good deal on it. Hoping to maybe keep the mj off the salty roads a little more. It got new pads and rotors up front, a new battery, an almost repaired brake line (don't ask), new wipers and a little bit of cleaning yesterday. Not sure whats up but I can't get my pic to upload. Kinda like an airplane having a "near miss." Isn't that a collision?
watchamakalit
lol rusty brake lines are soooooo much fun. I rebuilt the piece I messed up yesterday. Installed it and pumped the pedal to find another leak 6 inches from my connection. So now I get to pull my piece out and remake it longer.... ugh, I will be glad when this thing has brakes and I can pull it out of the shop. You are correct, but bringing up a southern vehicle and using rustproofing will slow it down significantly, as will keeping it clean. I also plan to move south after school. watchamakalit
Eh. If nothing else it gives you a reason to get a new vehicle every few years and the rust pieces make a great driveway material.
Car Enthusiast
I am really surprised at how cheap ZJ and WJs are nowdays. I mean they are still good trucks
Pete M
quality is only part of the pricing equation. quantity is another. and there are a LOT of them reaching the upper limits of their "cheap" (meaning low maintenence) lifespan right now. with a glut of them on the market, prices drop. Keep it cool, let it idle before you shut it off and ya know deal with Jeep stuff.

watchamakalit
Doing really well. Needs back brakes and rotors, they are warped(go figure). It was a temporary driver till I finished the mj now the wife stole it and is continuing to drive the wheels off it. Lol
