Two more pics with the stock bumper notched for winch access and cut to accept the shackle mounts. Haven’t scut the winch cable access yet since I am still shopping for the winch I want. Fit is a lot tighter than I thought it would be. Like it a lot!!!! I will be posting a thread in the DYI section when I get done.

Found a misrouted vacuum line and kept fooling with the TPS settings and just double checking everything. This is the best this has run since I bought it. Just need to get the brake issues squared away and drive it some to see if I can work out the trans shifting issues.

Took a break from mechanical work today and did a little more fab work for the RedRock JK 2dr side steps. Think I am going to like them. I’ll be doing a write up in the DYI section when I’ve figured the rest out.

Also threw in a couple of side view pics of the BTSB for good measure.

check the Vendors section of the classifieds for Dakota's printed holder for your REM :L:

Will do! Made some more progress today. New to me throttle body installed. A few adjustments and I can get her to hold idle at 850-950 rpms.

Worked on the front bumper and brush guard. Got them both mounted back on the truck. I was even able to salvage the lower air dam and remount it in nearly stock form. Still winch shopping so I still haven’t cut the bumper for the fairlead yet. 0C59957C-85C9-4860-9D17-266542A4EAD7.jpeg.1e7a86400307e37ac8a04d9725c2f053.jpeg0C59957C-85C9-4860-9D17-266542A4EAD7.jpeg.1e7a86400307e37ac8a04d9725c2f053.jpeg

Started on a job I’ve been dreading but that has to be done (brake lines ugh!) Pulled both the old rear lines from the main distribution valve, pulled the load sensing proportioning valve. Only had to cut two lines from the distribution valve and on from the load sensing valve. Next up new hard lines and a YJ proportioning valve, wheel cylinders and calipers. Basically all new brake system, and yes I am doing shoes and pads. I just put in a new master cylinder and booster last week.

Brake bleeding kind of done, at least enough to get her to stop. Will be continuing and hopeful to have good brakes after new wheel cylinders and calipers go on.

Made a new milestone today, three trips around the neighborhood about 4 miles total. Trans is shifting better, maybe one more flush of the fluid and a new filter.

Parked her on a level spot in prep for putting on the new lift and brake calipers/wheel cylinders.

New lift mostly installed on the front. Waiting on ZJ trac, tie rod, and drag links to come in. I also still need to sap out the lower control arms. I know it’s just an RC lift but it’s much better than the old Trailmaster lift that came off.

Still working on her. Full cluster swapped in today and new speedo cable with cruise adapter. Haven’t driven it yet, but fuel low light works and the voltage meter, still need to swap out oil pressure and temp senders. Tach did not work on initial startup and it doesn’t appear the cluster lights are working. These weren’t working on old cluster either. Always something. Good news is high beam indicator and blinker indicators work. Also did the mod to keep my column shift indicator.

It feels like she’s growing up to fast. Full gauge cluster swapped in and I now have under dash courtesy lights. New headlight switch, but still no dash lights as I can see in daylight. All the gauges work except the water temp (bought the wrong sending unit). That will be corrected soon.

Now to finish the underside work (new rear shocks, heavy duty track bar, new lower control arms), some more brake work and she should be a driver.

What fixed it?

New headlight switch. Old one was pretty nasty and had a tab that was completely gone. I’ll try and get a photo USF I didn’t toss it already.

Few more items checked off the front end list.

Adjustable/quick disconnect sway bar links and heavy duty track bar installed. 47B81464-0E1D-4F83-B04E-50186E6EE0A7.jpeg.08ec19626999056ee542a283a732795e.jpeg078999A4-144B-4452-A774-195900051E3E.jpeg.cae6ca938f0245bffa443c8700452194.jpeg61507AEF-D1C0-466C-B783-ED1A077B7DF6.jpeg.f26408e1800fe3af97f5cfd42c510529.jpeg

Also pulled the valve cover for cleanup, new gasket and to check valves for movement.

Valve train looks supper clean. F2CD0858-E210-416F-9832-362CA1FE95ED.jpeg.a257fb102543a092fde2c2f5bc209602.jpeg52F8FA08-0C7C-41D0-B0D3-FA0520583A80.jpeg.1298db5a9af422a18baf63e37ad74232.jpeg

New thermostat, radiator, alternator, re-used power steering pump, gauges all working except water temp. Moving forward. Took it out for a short drive this afternoon. Still need to do rear wheel cylinders and some more brake bleeding. Trans is shifting kind of hard, another trans fluid flush is in the future. Alternator is now charging thanks to the fix provided by @Greentoy

Also have a new trans filter to go in during this flush.

Need to check the wiring on the euromatic B pillar lights as they aren’t coming on with door switch.

Big day for Little Blue, 10 plus miles around the neighborhood and a trip to the gas station for a fill up. Got home to find the O ring on the gas tank is leaking after filling it up all the way. Guess I’ll pull the tank to ensure I get it in correctly. Glad I bought a transfer pump so I can siphon the fuel out.
