Was able to move the truck under its own power a little bit today. Had to be patient and get the revs up pretty good to get her to move. Thinking I may be looking at some trans work. Though it could be that it hasn’t been moved or driven in a couple of months and needs some exercise to get things moving. I’ll be doing a filter and fluid change very soon though.

Made a stumbling/popping and slight back firing trip around the block yesterday. Not a fun drive, but progress. She also got a fresh oil filter and oil along with a new coolant pressure tank and some new antifreeze.

Got the new windshield washer motor in and tank reinstalled. We now have windshield washer that works. Found the wiper motor is only mounted with one bolt and rubbing against the wiper arms. Still need to figure out why wipers are super slow.

Things are coming together slowly.

Transmission still isn’t shifting correctly and doesn’t seem to want to go forward. Seems to be okay in reverse.

4x4 indicator light on dash has randomly started to illuminate when trans is in park and neutral. ? No clue what has caused that.

Also need to figure out why gauge cluster lights refuse to illuminate.

Placed an order with @NickInTimeFilms for the REM and ordered some new transmission lines to replace the cobbled together one currently on the truck.

I know it’s probably blasphemy but I knocked the chrome off the old front brush guard today. Primed her up with some self etching primer and then shot it with Satin black 2x Rustolem and forgot to take a pic before it got dark. So you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see it. Still a ways off from mounting it, but after chasing the rough idle and poorly shifting trans issues it just feels good to accomplish something.

While waiting on new dizzy to come in I decided to spend the day finishing checking and refreshing factory splices and cleaning up the wiring harness in the engine bay. No reason I chose yellow and red zip ties just what I pulled out of the stash.

Tomorrow’s projects: new CPS, refreshed the cover that goes over the hole in the trans and will see if I can get it back in place. New brake booster and master cylinder. This one I am not looking forward to, but I need brake help badly.

that makes me really happy nothing like a clean engine bay

Time consuming and a royal pain in @$$ but it needed to be done and is definitely worth the effort.

for sure I didn't even know my valve cover was aluminum until I cleaned my engine bay that's how bad it was

Productive day; new brake booster installed, new CPS, new dizzy and degreased the engine bay and under side of hood. Also received the BDBTSB winch mount.
