Maaaaybe the one with the chrome outlines, but I'm not sure of that either. That may have been a Pioneer thing.

I got there late in the day and knew I really didn't have time to pull the seats, so I put it out of my mind. Hopefully someone else got them and put them to use. Interior was beautiful, outside was a little rough. 21 slot grill and marchal fog lights too! Such rarities! How sad though

It was hard to walk away from the taillights, but the rear hatch wouldn't open, and I didn't have time to work with it.

I scored these years ago in the salvage yard, but don't remember details. Wish I'd kept better notes. Can you pull the filler piece out and see if the part number is cast into the back face? Almost feel like I should start a new topic. This turned out to be quite an exercise. At first, I couldn't get the filler piece out. Usually they almost fall out. I had to get a very thin electrical terminal tool to get in there and pop it out. The back is a beige color, like the back of some woodgrain ones I've seen. It also has duct tape-like tape on the sides. This bezel has been on my XJ so long I'd forgotten. Had to peel the tape back. Then had to carefully clean the tape adhesive residue off to see the last part of the number. 5500 3101 84-86 parts manual shows this as FILLER, STEERING COLUMN LIMITED 88-90 parts manual shows it as FILLER, STEERING COLUMN WOODGRAIN

eaglescout526
Soooo, for anyone who remembers this fun little thread, I finally got the fillers for the woodgrain/brushed dash bezels and well it turns out the filler I got was the woodgrain if you saw my NOS post. Wah wah. Anyways I want to say that I am going to be painting a dash bezel charcoal color for the charcoal interiors. Will post how it turns out. Pete M
on the topic of locked XJ rear hatches, I've gotten pretty good at crawling inside and getting the hatch open. once you pry that hatch panel off, it's easy.
