AeroNautical Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I feel like I’m going to get flack for this, but I pulled the trigger on a new truck. I’d like to write a post about my thoughts on it, I’m actually very impressed with the truck. But a couple pictures will do for now. Gotta say, the MJ looks so much better, haha
amsuco Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 While I'm not crazy about the Gladiator, if I was in the market for a similar vehicle I'd much rather have that over a Colorado or Ranger. So yeah...I'm a bit jealous!

Kickin’Chicken Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Congrats. As long as you like it, who cares what others think, right? I'm gonna wait till they put either a diesel or a v8 in something like this:
AeroNautical Posted August 10, 2020 Author Posted August 10, 2020 Thanks, I ran the VIN, and even though it's a rubicon (less payload and tow) it's still rated for 7422lbs tow and 1300 payload. Not great on payload, the max tow allows 1700, but I assume it's because of the softer coils and fox shocks. I've towed 3200lbs with it on a damn near 30 degree incline at 60mph and it didn't skip a beat the whole way. Like I said, I'll write an abbreviated, yet interesting review in the near future. Anyone can look on youtube and get a generic review, I intend to take pictures of the axles, armor, actually have some numbers for you guys to compare. Despite popular belief, this is not a wrangler with a bed. It just shares part of the body tub. Honestly, it seems closer to a Ram.
Jeffery Starn Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Man that is a sweet gladiator, one day I’ll be able to afford one lol
Zambeezy Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Looks awesome! As Kickin'Chicken said, as long as you like it, that's all that matters! I like them well enough and have considered trading in the JKU for one. Probably won't, since I'd probably go with a Tacoma if I wanted to swap the Wrangler for a truck, but I'm definitely not a hater. Most of the Gladiator hate I see is either jealousy or contrarianism. Both are stupid. Enjoy it my man!
AeroNautical Posted August 28, 2020 Author Posted August 28, 2020 Yet another MJ JT size comparison for those curious.
eaglescout526 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 "Put the wrangler on a 1500 frame" vs a cheap but well thought out uniframe design. What I don't get is why the JT has rear half doors when it has a full cab. I understand why, better to use an existing door than to make a new full door but then it just takes away the "uniqueness" the JT has.

Yep, a bit odd but understandable I suppose. I'm 6'5" however, and have no issue with the rear door OR legroom, it's incredibly roomy in the back.
AeroNautical Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 Some underbelly shots. I didn’t know it had a fully boxed frame until looking under it. Very nice On 8/30/2020 at 9:57 PM, MiNi Beast said: I like the brick work. 👌 Thanks, haha
JMO413 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 It's it a manual or automatic? Just wondering we've have a decent amount sold at work. In all of them I've only seen 1 manual. That I made sure to pull from the service drive into the shop.
AeroNautical Posted October 4, 2020 Author Posted October 4, 2020 This is an auto, the manual has a significantly lower tow rating. 8 speed auto helps i suppose over the 6 speed manual.
