Well, I guess this is the start to my build thread! won't really be a build just the progress of my daily. I’ve had her for like 2 months now and so far ive:

Replaced both window regulators

Fixed a lower radiator hose leak

Got a steal on new taillights

Did front breaks

New tires

Window tint

Right now I'm working on chasing down a TCU problem. My trans isnt shifting on its own so I have to go 1-3-4.

I’ve got some big plans for this truck in the future its just a matter of saving up!

If you want to follow the build closer follow my insta @ DannyD815

I will add more photos when I can!

What are your long term plans for the truck?

Trying to keep it all original but I sill want to take it on trails so 4x4 is a maybe. I gotta work out the leaks and get my trans figured out then I’ll have a good daily. There’s definitely a lot of work to be done under the hood 5caab02d420a26c5a02067f3f05521c8.jpg

what types of trails?  with a locker in back and tow points front/rear you can go to an awful lot of cool places. :comanche: (never go alone of course)

Ive been looking for just some easy beginners offroad courses somewhere near the San Antonio area but the closest one Ive been able to find is like an hour away, Ive been looking into going for a while now!

UPDATE:

I finally got my TCU situation figured out, and it was of course the easiest solution. My TCU is bad. I went ahead and ordered a cheap 4.0Aw4 TCU and of course it works haha. Only problem is my shift points are terrible, shifts way to early and bogs down hard. So I do need to either fix mine or buy a proper 2.5 Aw4 TCU. If anyone has one for sale LMK! I'm sending mine out to Nickintimefilms (the guy who makes the awesome renix scanner) and hes gonna take a look and see what he can figure out. cc25622dcfadc528e5faeeb64ba5d033.jpg

So...I did some searching for your controller. There are two different part numbers. 53005101 is for the 2.5L auto. No one has one but this is what you want to look for. There’s an older part number still available from one dealer but it is worth an arm and a leg. Maybe half a brain.

So a 4.0 controller won’t be direct plug and play for you because of the shift points the controller expects from the six cyl

Thankyou so much! Probably gonna end up having to get mine rebuilt but we will see, I'm really hoping someone has one !

I wish you the best of luck. Best bet is to have it “rebuilt”. As far as anyone’s having one, they probably have a stash of platinum with that controller.

No $#!&? Lol that what i though bec i never heard 2.5 auto with 4.56 before... Thanks for quick respond. :L:

Lol. I’d imagine that the autos came with that gearing. Since it is an AW4 after all. I think the A999 was set up with a different ratio

It’s definitely neat. I’ll post your build sheet this afternoon.

You seriously are a legend, thankyou! Do you know possible a rough estimate of how many were made in my configuration? It would be cool to know how rare of a truck I’ve really got.
