Comanche SS Posted March 25, 2025 Author Posted March 25, 2025 Well, not many updates in terms of the adapters and wheels at the machine shop….So I took on some busy work. Got the front diff stripped down and cleaned, it had legitimiate mud and dirt in there. Luckily, I won't be using any of the old internals, mainly only the housing. The center section is now cleaned out and has a base coat on it just for rust prevention. When the whole front end build is wrapped up everything will get a fresh coat.

Comanche SS Posted March 27, 2025 Author Posted March 27, 2025 More cleaning and prepping front end parts
Comanche SS Posted March 28, 2025 Author Posted March 28, 2025 It always amazes me how well gas cleans…it’s the ultimate degreaser. That nasty diff section spent 2 minutes in the gas bath, with no scrubbing or cleaning of any sort it looks totally usable (although I won’t be) D264B530-2C90-4F8B-9A3E-48837289C95C.mov
Comanche SS Posted March 30, 2025 Author Posted March 30, 2025 Patiently waiting for the Wheels & Adapters
Comanche SS Posted March 30, 2025 Author Posted March 30, 2025 iPad dash mount Just some 16GA Stainless wrapped in a cloth, couple bends and push fastened to the bezel. Will be good for gauges, maps, and tunes.
89 MJ Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 Saw this on FaceSpace: I’m excited to see how yours turns out.

Yep, I have been helping Marc out with his questions throughout his build, he found me awhile back before starting his whole build to get insight…It’s going to be a sweet build
Comanche SS Posted April 1, 2025 Author Posted April 1, 2025 Well, it looks good, going to be stuck inside for the remainder of the week it sounds like waiting on the parts still. That’s alright, the weather will suck here for the next week anyways so I am not complaining..too much lol. here's a photo in the meantime.
Comanche SS Posted April 3, 2025 Author Posted April 3, 2025 Amazing what 4 years has done to this jeep. Stock drivetrain, in a small 2 car garage….To Long travel, LS3, Beams, Full float 9’’ rear in a custom workshop. Hoping the next 4 years are just as strong.
MiNi Beast Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 Another 4 years building or perhaps 4 years of enjoying..?

Comanche SS Posted April 29, 2025 Author Posted April 29, 2025 Finally got some updates, will break into two posts. The spacers and wheels are nearly done, spacers are done just needs the studs pressed in. They are beefy! The wheels are on the mill as we speak getting bored and re-drilled. The way I designed it, I will have optionality to run 5x4.5 or 5x5.5 with these wheels, no real reason why, just a why not thing.
Comanche SS Posted April 29, 2025 Author Posted April 29, 2025 Other update, I have begun working on the TTB beams, mainly bracing them up and getting them prepped to go in the truck. Really want to take my time with getting these in, I hastily put the I-beams in previously and here we are taking them out due to dissatisfaction lol. Will be making a cover plate for the truss, and dimple die it. One of the holes won't be dimple died, as it is for the fill plug.

89 MJ Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 I’d be worried about the dimple dies letting dirt get in there and make it hard to get it out, but it would look good.

I've embraced the reality that moisture (and dirt) will almost always find it's way into places like this. Might as well reduce the weight, strengthen the part, and enhance the sexy factor with a dimple
Comanche SS Posted April 29, 2025 Author Posted April 29, 2025 Got my glue gun out…sure haven’t used it in awhile, definitely a little rusty with it.
Comanche SS Posted April 30, 2025 Author Posted April 30, 2025 95% done with this one…just needs some finish sanding and cleanup a couple porosity holes. Then Ill prime it and move onto the other beam
Eagle_SX4 Posted April 30, 2025 Posted April 30, 2025 Great job on the truss. If that axle doesn't have a drain plug I would suggest adding one while you have it all torn apart.
