dellstopjeep Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 For a long time I looked for the right Comanche....Finally I found a 91 swb, 4x4, 5 speed with the ho in wa and got excited. It had major clutch issues aside from a list of others but I flew over to Portland, fixed the critical things and limped it back to Idaho with no clutch. It was a rough journey but it made it.Over The past few months I began tear down of entire interior... or what was left of it and replaced all clutch components. Located most of the interior stuff I needed, re did the headliner and installed a new carpet kit along with a much better stereo upgrade.Big plans will come for black-n-mild just haven't decided the route I want to take quite yet since I don't want this thing to trashed being in as great of shape as it's in. No rust was a nice added benefit as well.
buxmj Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Welcome! Great find and glad you got it home. Buck
dellstopjeep Posted February 19, 2017 Author Posted February 19, 2017 Well it seemed fitting with the paint color and current events! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DirtyComanche Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I had a sneaking suspicion it might have something to do with that. Sure looks like it's in nice shape though.
dellstopjeep Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 Not really an awesome update but picked up some tires and d windows to get by as I start building this thing. It has to make a road trip to 500 miles next weekend all for a plastic bedliner for the Comanche! And I picked up a truck box I will plastidip black and install since it's ugly heavy duty and white. I am picking up a 8.8 with 4.10s discs and already soa with u bolt eliminators ready for a Comanche with a matching 4.10 Dana 30 front. Way taller then i want to be so I need to figure out how to build some lead packs in the rear to keep it around 4.5 to 5 inches. Then I don't have to go overkill in the front of this thing since it won't be doing any real difficult trails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DRUNKMAR1NE Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Wow I was actually right when I would think that
dellstopjeep Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 Decided I wanted to see on a nighttime road trip to wa this weekend. Upgraded the headlight harnesses, hella h4 housings and Amazon cheapo led bro lights. I'll try out some h4 led lamps in the near future and see how they do. Comparison for reference Then I negotiated a trade for some rc parts new never opened for a set of wheels and some Jeep labor in the future. Trying to slowly pick up all the parts and start the real build on this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DirtyComanche Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 What RC parts did you wind up with? Some of the stuff they make is better resold than used, even if it was cheap/free.
dellstopjeep Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 What RC parts did you wind up with? Some of the stuff they make is better resold than used, even if it was cheap/free. A 3 inch lift for a Cherokee and some quick disconnects for a little taller lift. I only plan on probably using the coils and discos. I'm picking up a jks trackbar this weekend and probably and probably putting in a iron rock off-road order soon. I have had good luck with their suspension parts. Not sure on a shock yet. 5100s seem to always work out well and I like the ride quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dellstopjeep Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 I have been productive when time allows. Installed add a leafs, deleted the garbage load sensor valve and continuing to gather parts for the front. Still waiting on my axles but did order a jcr bumper! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dellstopjeep Posted April 1, 2017 Author Posted April 1, 2017 Update.... After rummaging threw my parts and using some stuff I got, the Comanche sits a little taller and has some new goodies. Still waiting on steering before it's back to being a daily driver again but I like the height. I may go to a 32 depending on if I want to run aftermarket flares or not. I just feel bad cutting this truck up.
dellstopjeep Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 Thanks! Tonight decided to install my iron rock tie rod, all new ends and steering stabilizer. Wow my Jeep drives down the road like a normal vehicle again. Of course I love poser pics so why not another one.
cody4359 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 If you wanna go 1 step further, look into Ruffstuff's "the cure". Best $20 I've put into mine Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Best $20 I've put into mine Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk I just ordered one of these along with a replacement set of rc fixed lower c.a. for muy 87 mj. The bushing in my lca is sloppy and it headshakes real bad at about 35-40 mph. Hope the cure helps. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
dellstopjeep Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 I have axles to build next but unfortunately surgery is gonna halt progress for a couple months.... In the meantime I hated my rack city stance so I added 3/4 spacers to front. Then jcr finally shipped me my non-winch bumper. I decided to keep weight down and due to the 4.5 trees In the desert of Idaho I probably won't need one anyways

I I had to put a new fitting on hard line to work since I changed it up when deleting load sensing valve
dellstopjeep Posted April 24, 2017 Author Posted April 24, 2017 Picked up a 8.8 that was soa with u bolt eliminators for a Comanche, 4.10s, 31 spline, disc brakes and lsd. And a 4.10 Dana 30. 400 bucks. They both need some love. And I gotta cut off mounts since it will go back to spring under. But not bad I must say. I also learned I need a new drivers side door seal pronto. I took s shower at the car wash and so did my interior it was so bad... I guess the road noise should have been my cue.
