I saw one other guy Rondo I think his username is but other than that, who else on here has a hunter green 92? Not camo green, not rattle can green, I mean real Hunter Green Metallic (PG5 on the body tag)

Mine's rough but I'm thinking about restoring it due to how rare these things are. It will depend on time and budget. I often have grand plans that never work out LOL

Not sure who has it now, but there was a hunter green metallic Eliminator on here years ago. At least at that time it had the latest build date known.

I remember seeing one new at the dealer (Codorolli Motors) in Livermore, CA. It had the Big Ton (Metric Ton???) package, but alas I had my '90 already.

There was one on here that I'm remembering... it got painted orange. Don't remember who the perpetrator was.

I've tried finding like original type pics of green 92's but they are tough to find. Anyone got pics of original 92 green ones with the clear coat on it still?

Was the peeling clear coat mainly a green issue? Nearly all of them are flaking from pics I've found.

Nope, my Spinnaker Blue Metallic ('90) and Colorado Red ('89) both had major clear coat peeling.

My original clear coat isn't great, either. I can tell where the $#!&ty faded blurple respray a PO had done is flaking off...

two reasons.  i had to sell it to automan2164 because i was starting college that was a 90 mile round trip.  i needed something easy on gas and a little more reliable.  i wish i would have held onto it.  had to sell the 92 and my ATV and bought a honda civic.  my second reason is knowing how it ended up.  I'm sure glad someone spent the time to redo the bodywork, but man was i bummed when i found out it was painted orange.

It's still alive and well... ;) I'm gonna end up with it someday, maaaaaaybe I'll be able to have it repainted to its former glory, its still a very nice truck after all the overhauling.

I don't doubt it.  i've always been appreciative that someone spent the time/money to redo it.  just didnt end up how i thought it should have.  then again its not my truck anymore so my opinion doesnt matter lol.

yes the clear was peeling on mine.  my blue 88 and red 89 had no clear coat issues.

Every green '92 I've seen has baaaad clearcoat fade. Hard to say if it's worse than normal, but my silver '91 is still shiny except for the roof and back of the bed.

I'm pretty sure my Lada never got clear coat... That or it's ALL peeled off. The paint is pretty faded but there's no flaking anywhere :dunno:

Apart from where the paint itself DNE because of rust, obviously.

Yeah, a Lada probably doesn't have clearcoat, I don't see Ivan and Boris thinking that it was a necessary step...  It also probably has super nasty carcinogenic toxins in the paint, which help it to last longer anyways. :rotfl2:
