fiatslug87 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I've had my first MJ for 25 years as of today and still running strong! Purchased new in Auburn CA on 7/7/90.
AeroNautical Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 That is so cool, how many miles have you put on the old girl?
fiatslug87 Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 It has 243,393, was hoping to turn 250k but fell short. The sick thing is I have a record of every gas fill up since I got it: gallons, price/gallon, mileage. And maintenance done to it. I hope I have another 25 years. :)
ComancheKid45 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Awesome! Only wish i had a chance to by a new one back then. This month marks the 28th birthday of my Blue 88. Which makes it equal with my age again. lol
buxmj Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Congrats! Celebrated my 25th anniversary back in December with my 89 mj. I hope to have it another 25 years, I hope I live that long also! Buck.
Minuit Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Wish I could've been around to buy one of these new. I'd say 1991 was probably one of the best years to ever be a Jeep customer. XJs, YJs, MJs and the GW was even still around. As much as I love my base model, I'd probably check just about every single box on the order form.
Pete M Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I'd probably check just about every single box on the order form. whoever originally ordered my dakota did that! It's an R/T that ended up with giant dumbo towing mirrors. :D
fiatslug87 Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 I'd probably check just about every single box on the order form. That's a lot of boxes!
Minuit Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Holy crap, that is a lot of boxes. Never seen some of these options.
fiatslug87 Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Yeah, I've been looking for the "Stowage Compartment: Behind Seat-With Gun Stowage Capacity."
HOrnbrod Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Yeah, but you can't carry guns in a Cali vehicle w/o them amputating your left, err, arm, right? A 1991 cell phone would be a nice touch though............
fiatslug87 Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Yeah, but you can't carry guns in a Cali vehicle w/o them amputating your left, err, arm, right? A 1991 cell phone would be a nice touch though............ Hand guns have to be in a locked case, long guns do not. Nice brick, that would have been SWEET!
HOrnbrod Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Hand guns have to be in a locked case, long guns do not. Basically the same here, but it varies county to county.
Zebvance Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 where is the option of a block warmer? My 88 swb 4.0 pioneer Has one.
Zebvance Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Engine block heater: $42.66 option. Completely missed it!
jeepdoggydogB Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Congratulations Mike, Happy Birthday to old Blue!
